I've had it for about a week now, but I am very happy with it. I was mostly reluctant to buy this because I guess you could say I'm "married to itunes". All of my music and so on has been itunes centered for the past 5 or 6 years, so transitioning and working around it is a little weird, but I think I'll just download Samsung Kies or something and see how that goes. I'm really trying to avoid having to use Windows Media Player. This is probably my only big issue.
The screen is great! I've used friends' iphones and itouches before, and this screen definitely is just as good if not better. (Then again, I am definitely not an apple/mac person at all, haha. But I still stand by what I said.) Typing anything on it is a breeze, and since I have skype on mine, sending quick IMs is super quick and easy. It's a very responsive screen, and feels very solid.
So far it's very fast. It hasn't frozen on me yet either. My previous ipods would all often freeze up or need to be restarted. It is still pretty new though, to be fair.
Another main reason I got this was because I can easily make this a 32GB, but don't have to spend the extra freaking $100 for it! This is a MAJOR plus for me. Plus this already comes with a 8GB card in it, and it costs over $50 less than the 8GB itouch.Read more ›
My sister has an ipod touch and she loves it, I say to each their own, she lives and breathes mac, I prefer to have a choice, plus I like getting more for my money, and this player certainly gives me that.Read more ›
This product is very easy to use, my other four year old daughter is also use very easily.
It has good sound quality as a MP3 player and all other features are also works very good.
I haven't tried Google Map yet.
I've been using it for only 4 hours using headphones "Kinivo BTH220 Bluetooth Stereo Headphone" - It took me 2 minutes to pair them and less than one hour to download Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype, and some other applications, configuring them as well, and also Gmail... and upload some of the music that I have in my laptop, and up to now here is my review:
- Sound: 8.5 out of 10 (equalizer doesn't work fine but having it configured for flat sound, sound quality is quite good)
- Screen: 7 out of 10 (really sensitive and enough to navigate and watch some videos or photos, however not much definition)
- CPU Speed: 8 out of 10 (enough for what I need and to handle around 7 applications open at a time)
- Size: Thin and small enough for the pocket!
- Itouch vs Samsung: We also have one at home to compare with, and I have to say that Itouch screen and navigation is probably much better, but for the prize that this "Samsung 3.6-Inch Galaxy Player" costs and considering also that paying 20 extra bucks you may have 32 additional Gb to store music... I had no doubt about my choice...
Summarizing: If you are not looking for a phone but for a nice device to hear/store music and do some internet stuff at a low cost this is your device.
