My older ipod nano is sadly starting to die on me, and so I decided to look around for something new. I am not a fan of the design of the new weirdly small nanos, but I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on an ipod touch or classic. I became very excited when stumbling upon this player, and after much debate, I finally gave in and decided to get the 3.6 player.

I've had it for about a week now, but I am very happy with it. I was mostly reluctant to buy this because I guess you could say I'm "married to itunes". All of my music and so on has been itunes centered for the past 5 or 6 years, so transitioning and working around it is a little weird, but I think I'll just download Samsung Kies or something and see how that goes. I'm really trying to avoid having to use Windows Media Player. This is probably my only big issue.

The screen is great! I've used friends' iphones and itouches before, and this screen definitely is just as good if not better. (Then again, I am definitely not an apple/mac person at all, haha. But I still stand by what I said.) Typing anything on it is a breeze, and since I have skype on mine, sending quick IMs is super quick and easy. It's a very responsive screen, and feels very solid.

So far it's very fast. It hasn't frozen on me yet either. My previous ipods would all often freeze up or need to be restarted. It is still pretty new though, to be fair.

Another main reason I got this was because I can easily make this a 32GB, but don't have to spend the extra freaking $100 for it! This is a MAJOR plus for me. Plus this already comes with a 8GB card in it, and it costs over $50 less than the 8GB itouch.

When my ipod nano final generation took it's final breath I went in search of a mp3 player that meets my specific requirements and would not break my wallet. What I needed was a mp3 player that had bluetooth connectivity and would connect to my Amazon Cloud Player for all my songs as well as stream from internet radios as well. I had a sansa before my ipod and was quite happy with the way that little machine would talk to all other software and wasn't tied to a particular product. The Sonys caught my eye until Amazon sent me a recommendation that included this little gem. The 3.6" size was not too big and it wasn't too small, it had bluetooth so I could connect it to my Logitech Speakers and have great sound, it's an android device so I'm familiar with the technology aspect of it and most of all it works with practically everything I needed it to. Amazon Cloud is on here, so I can listen to and download as many songs as I want to on this device, I have Pandora and Overdrive so radio and audio books are a piece of cake as well. My only gripe is that google doesn't play with wma format of books, but that's an android issue not the player. Skype and the cameras work well, even though this one is a step down in graphics from the 4" one, I haven't noticed much, I don't watch movies on this screen so I'm not affected by the graphics difference, (the angry birds look angry enough). The best part is the expandable memory, I added a 32Gb card to my player so there is never a need to worry about storage capacity.
My sister has an ipod touch and she loves it, I say to each their own, she lives and breathes mac, I prefer to have a choice, plus I like getting more for my money, and this player certainly gives me that.

... Considering what it costs, is probably the best purchase possible for someone like me, that looks only for a cheap device to store and play music, having also the chance to do some internet (using wifi) and use some applications (games and social network related)... It also gives you the possibility to take photos and GPS maps/navigation...

I've been using it for only 4 hours using headphones "Kinivo BTH220 Bluetooth Stereo Headphone" - It took me 2 minutes to pair them and less than one hour to download Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype, and some other applications, configuring them as well, and also Gmail... and upload some of the music that I have in my laptop, and up to now here is my review:

- Sound: 8.5 out of 10 (equalizer doesn't work fine but having it configured for flat sound, sound quality is quite good)
- Screen: 7 out of 10 (really sensitive and enough to navigate and watch some videos or photos, however not much definition)
- CPU Speed: 8 out of 10 (enough for what I need and to handle around 7 applications open at a time)
- Size: Thin and small enough for the pocket!
- Itouch vs Samsung: We also have one at home to compare with, and I have to say that Itouch screen and navigation is probably much better, but for the prize that this "Samsung 3.6-Inch Galaxy Player" costs and considering also that paying 20 extra bucks you may have 32 additional Gb to store music... I had no doubt about my choice...

Summarizing: If you are not looking for a phone but for a nice device to hear/store music and do some internet stuff at a low cost this is your device.
