It has a "hole" on the bottom left. On the back, it looks like a speaker. It's there so it doesn't cover the phone speaker. It works, however, you'll notice that the speaker volume is slightly lower.
You can control the volume from the dock. It has volume buttons on the right side.
Also, when you dock your galaxy s2, it opens a dock screen. It's just a wallpaper with the clock, and an application bar at the bottom, where you can choose to open the gallery, or the music player. You can add your other apps there. It's a nice software, although, of course, it's already in your phone, you don't need the dock for it. One thing I haven't figured out is that, when the phone is docked, it often shows a "connection failed" error. Again, I doubt that's a dock problem, but a software problem.
Back to the dock, I think it's very useful, as it lets your phone charge while in a nice position to keep using it for other things.
It also has a line out, so you can connect external speakers, but I haven't tried it yet. It also comes with its own micro usb travel adapter (which you connect to the micro usb port on the back of the dock), which is nice, because you can use the charger for other devices, too.
I thought it was a bit too expensive for what it does, but I don't regret it. It's something I don't need, but I still like it :)
After purchasing this dock for the S2 it's become a cinch to drop in the phone to charge - no wiggling or adjusting, just simply drop it right in. The grips on the bottom keep the dock steady on my desk. Using the phone is doable while on the dock, but it's still simpler to pick it up when typing out texts or emails. The phone is angled just the right way so I can utilize video chat on skype or google talk with the front camera while sitting at my desk. It included another power cord, so now I can keep one at home and one in my laptop back for when I travel. These features alone easily justify the cost for me.
When answering calls on the dock, the phone will take bluetooth connectivity as first priority, then enabling speakerphone. Ideally, I'd like it that if I answered my phone from the headset, it'd utilize the headset, but if I answer on the phone screen, it'd default to speaker, but that's nitpicking, as it's a simple button press to switch to speaker once I answer the phone. If there's no bluetooth headset connected, it'll default to speakerphone.
I don't typically utilize the audio output, but I tested it out briefly and it seemed to work fine.
Another reviewer mentioned to lean the phone forward in the dock, and indeed that works. I also have stuck a pad of post-its behind the phone so that it "leans forward" and now it will charge in the dock. But this is not exactly what I had in mind.
I tried to contact Samsung several times about this issue / product defect. However, their support is just about useless. I emailed, then chatted and ended up being given a phone number to call. When I called I was transferred several times until the call was dropped. Seems like this product is an afterthought for Samsung.
I would not buy this accessory. I had thought that the manufacturer would make a better quality accessory, but you are better off buying a cheap knock off.

Works great, but unfortunatelly this is a seasonal product, once new devices are launched this will not fit anymore. Do not worth.Published 13 months ago by Amazon Customer
Well, this is not compatible with the samsung infuse nor S3 or newer galaxy(s). Just made solely for S2. But I like the design very much.Published 13 months ago by Lydia O
