Great Value - Altered for My Galaxy Note 10.1

The galaxy Note 10.1 does NOT fit because of it's length. I cut out the sides with my Dremel tool and now the Note 10.1 fits perfect!
In fact you can't even tell I altered it unless you look really close and the fast it's 1/5th the price of the galaxy 10.1 note stand I'm loving it. I might even buy a second one just for the office.

My friends samsung tablets fit in it also, even the small ones that have the same plugs.

Holds the screen up, it's solid and haven't had any issues with it.

Doesn't come with the cord but that's ok I bought one for a couple dollars.

Altering it.
If you want to modify it follow the other reviews, but be warned, you should have someone do it that has experience.

Tips
- It's plastic take your time or it will melt and warp.
-Cut out just the sides, if you want grind the front and back down a little where it curves that's fine, but you need them! Don't get rid of them!
-If it doesn't sit good, time to grind a little bit more away.

I'm in IT so it took me about 5 min, might take others longer.

It works as designed, but the crossbar is made for other (slightly smaller) tablets - NOT FOR GALAXY NOTE 10.1!

For those with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1: The stand DOES work with it, but WITHOUT THE CROSSBAR.
(The stand has two parts - the base, which is weighted to help keep the tablet from tipping, and the crossbar, which secures the tablet better and makes it so the connector for the base isn't the only thing holding it up.)

It DOES work, however, so I give it 4 stars. It should note what models it is compatible with. (Alternatively, make it fit the larger Galaxy Note 10.1, and add a liner to secure the smaller tabs.)

Yes, you need to provide your own cable... but you have one, because it came with the tablet. Does this seem obfuscated? It's not, because you can use it as a standalone dock, such as for photos, and you'd need a plug-in... or you can use it by your PC and connect it as a media source... etc. etc. So that makes sense.

Besides - how many people have 10+ USB A-B cables they never will use because everything comes with one?

Now it would be nice to add a USB port... but it would require more power.
And it would be nice to have an HDMI port... but that would require more power.
And it would be nice to have it bronzed with gold lettering.... but that would require more money.

All in all, it seems decent... but for the fact that its design is for a slightly smaller device.

Ad Should Specify WHICH Galaxy Tablets This Product Fits

I purchased this product on sale at a good price, because I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The Ad for this product just says it will fit the Galaxy Tab 10.1, so I thought it was safe to try. The 30 pin connector does not fit. I contacted the seller and was advised that they did sell the correct stand for my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, so I paid the difference (higher cost for the correct stand/charger), then ran into some difficulty receiving the product. To the seller's credit and in the true Amazon.com way, as soon as they were made aware of the misunderstanding, the company shipped the correct product immediately. On this basis alone I would highly recommend any company that takes ownership of issues and provides prompt and complete resolutions. I am spoiled by Amazon.com's exceptional service, and I am therefore quick to criticize when things go wrong, so I will be just a quick to recognize sellers for insuring customer satisfaction. These are sellers we should support. Kudos to CCMAccessories/Malcolm Distributors for a job well done!

Too good of a price to pass up. This dock is a great solution for keeping and charging my old Tab 10.1 beside my bed. The Tab still works great (always running stock Android based custom ROM's) and I can't justify getting a newer tablet just for the sake of getting a new tablet.

This is just a dock - it doesn't come with a charger, cord, or any other peripheral components. There is no HDMI on this dock - there's just the power cord port and audio port for connecting your own speakers (which I haven't used. This dock only works with the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 (I have a GT-P7510). It won't work with any cases on the Tab (I have a slim - low profile OEM Samsung case and it won't fit with the case installed).

I'm confused by all of the negative comments. It doesn't appear that this product has been misrepresented as coming with accessories. The fact that some customers are buying this for later model Tab's and then griping when the dock doesn't fit, strikes me as being a bit silly....shame on them for not doing their homework on this item before purchasing it! Perhaps I'm just basking in the glow of paying $8 for this dock and expanding the functionality of my old Tab...probably...

This dock is worthy of 5 Stars.

This is the official desktop dock for the original Galaxy Tab 10.1. It is really meant as a stand for the tablet that allows you to charge it and connect it to speakers. You can connect the regular charging/sync cable to the back of the dock and there is also an audio out, which can be used to connect some speakers. The dock works okay, it does not offer a lot of features, but the tablet will charge and the connected speakers will play the music that plays on the tablet.

I did not like that it usually took both hands to put the tablet into the dock, as the connector at the bottom needs to be plugged into the tablet. Also, while the dock actually is rather heavy, you will still need to hold the dock if you want to remove the tablet.

Overall, I would purchase this dock again. Just be aware that it really is not much more than a stand for the tablet.

does what it's supposed to, except its difficult to connect properly to my tab device. I have to push very very firmly to have it fit the connector properly. Too hard to make it useful in my opinion as a temporary docking device. Would be ok if used as a permanant dock.
