1. It only protects the corners, not the sides. So if you're walking with your tablet and bump the side, it is going to dent the silver trim.
2. The "magnet" that keeps it closed is not very strong. It flops open pretty regularly.
3. The case doesn't want to stand up when you fold the back around like in the photo. It has to be on a perfectly flat surface, and even then, I was still nervous that it was going to fall.
4. This is weird, but it felt like the flap was on backwards. My natural instinct on how a cover should open up was opposite on this one. If you are using apps that rotate, that's fine, but not all reading apps will rotate in all directions. You can't just turn it around and use it the other way because the cutout for the Note pen is only on one side.
5. After a few weeks the edges began to look "fuzzy" where the microfiber began to wear.
I usually take my old cases to Goodwill or give them away. This thing was so irritating that I tossed it. Move on to another case.
My tablet doesn't stay 100% clipped in firm all the time, the edges will pop out. I do not remove my tablet from the case ever, so it's not from unclipping it and clipping it in. It's just quit holding as well over time.
The roll up stand isn't the sturdiest, could of been better. Allows the tablet to flop over, no like!!!
I wish that the case was actually flipped. The home button is actually at the bottom of the case, I wish it was closer to the opening personally. This would help with daily usage of it. Right now I have to reach up to hit home and back keys, vs down with the way that I use it at the 30 degree angle on a table 90% of the time.
Same with just picking it up and using it for a few minutes, flipping the cover up instead of down seems superior to me, but the key cutouts are not that direction.
The magnets are not strong enough to hold the flap closed, so it is constantly coming open while just carrying it around. Overall, I haven't seen a better case for this tablet yet, but if I do, I will buy it.
Most of Poetic's stuff is usually pretty good, just disappointed in this case. I have other cases for some of my other tablets that work really well.
Update: Barely a year in and the cover is broken and constantly falling off. Still it's a cheaper alternative that most products out there.

The form fit is snug for the 2014 Edition Tablet. Note the picture show in Amazon is the old Note 10.1.
The case does not add significant weight, and the thin aesthetic of the device is maintained.
All external features are accessible via cut-outs (s-pen, charging port, IR blaster, on/off, volume, speakers, camera, reset, SD card). The tablet screen turns off when the case is closed and relights when it is opened.
The tri-fold stand is stable and works well. All cases will suffer from the Samsung decision to not have landscape orientation side charging. However, it is feasible to mount tablet upside down in case if you want to 'top charge' while using the tri-fold stand.
The level of protection from a minimalist case is reasonable; but for travel, a padded sleeve (or padded bag compartment) would be a sensible addition.
Considering the price, there can be no reason to upgrade to the official and expensive Samsung case (when it finally becomes available).
After the case broke due to no fault of my own, I emailed Poetic directly as i could not get a refund from Amazon's 30-day refund policy. I'm still in contact with them so i'm hoping i can sort out a direct refund but it's unlikely.
Only upside is that the tablet sits up well when you fold the top cover over.
The only problem (compromise) you have to make is that the micro fiber material that touches the screen when closed will get dirty when opened. I definitely recommend a screen protector!
