I purchased this case because of my lifestyle. If you are in construction or really clumsy, GO GET AN OTTERBOX. Do not blame this case for not protecting your phone when you throw it full force into the sidewalk. This is a mid-rage protective case.
Before I get carried away, lets get to the points:
Fit - This case fits really well. The bumper securely fits around the phone and the back fits into that pretty seamlessly. There is no wriggle room between the case and the phone. The phone is really thin, and this case keeps it that way. It still really slim and slides in and out of pockets.
Protection - This case is for people who "might" let the phone slip from their hand, but overall take good care of technology. It provides great protection when lying on its face or back. I believe that it would be ok from a full on drop, but have not (and will not) test it. The phone has fallen from my lap to the floor while in the car but that's not a big fall, its more of a scratch situation. i would class this case in a mid rage category. Like speck candyshells (yes I know that they are 1 pieces and this case is two). I have a speck on my ipod touch. The case works (i give it to my 3 year old), but the it scratches so easily. That's why it was eliminated it as an option for my note 2.
Material - I accidentally kicked it across the floor when standing up from being on the ground. I sent it skidding several feet. When in retrieved it, I did not find any scratches to the case. The texture of the back is really great. I feel that it helps with traction in my had. I have used the phone one handed it works well. The bumper/lip around the screen is wonderful. It is better that silicon. I had the otterbox commuter for my last phone and the silicon was such a lint magnet. It also stretched out. I can tell that it will not be the case with this one, because its a completely different material.
Buttons - By itself, the phone's buttons are small-ish and easy to accidentally hit. Especially the power button. The buttons with the case on are really nice. When pushing the power button, there is a slight click that tells you that you have pushed it. It feels nice. The same thing goes with volume buttons. The only thing I would stay with the case is that they are "slightly" difficult to find at first. My wife has a skin-it case, and their buttons are very pronounced. BUT, I got the case as soon as I got the phone. So both were new to me (my previous phone had power button on the TOP and volume on the RIGHT). As time goes on and muscle memory builds, I'm sure there will be no issues. 95 percent of the time i have no issues finding the buttons now.
So, would I recommend the case? Yes: IF it fits your lifestyle and the amount of protection you were looking for.
The case itself is a great product. 5 Stars.
The lip on the case is too shallow. It don't think it will provide much protection to the front glass if dropped.
Also, the rear cutout for the camera is a bit too large. I'm constantly grazing the camera lens when I hold my phone.
