The camera is easily brought up with a quick flick down gesture. The phone dial keypad with a quick flick up.
You can easily switch audio to the phone or bluetooth headset, when you want to have a real conversation.
I'm sure there are lots of fun things that can be done on this device. I am looking forward to more creative apps.
Other functions require you to flick left/right through your other apps. I'd like more shortcuts that are 1 flick away.
I have yet to figure out why/when it decides to aggregate my messages. It seems that if I get more than 1 or 2, it will not show me the messages on the phone, but will say "3 New messages" with my only option to "show on device" (the phone).
Slightly chunky on my hand.
At first I wasn't sure if this watch was worth getting but having used it for sometime, I have become dependant on it, and I miss it if I forget to put it on. Overall I think this is an awesome practical, piece of technology.
If the price-point on this was $99 instead of $299, they would have sold many, many more. But $299 on top of the smartphone expense pushes many users out of being a buyer. While I agree with many of the more negative reviews of the Gear, being an early adopter always has this disadvantage. Everyone who sees it asks me about it and wants one but tells me that they have read that they aren't any good. S Voice can be accessed directly from the Gear and you can also make Voice Memos. There is a Gallery to view your photos, a Media Controller, access to logs, the Pedometer I mentioned earlier, Contacts, Settings and the watch screen which can be set to several different formats including those with weather and Pedometer status. Fun to be able to change all these on the fly through Settings on the Gear.
I do worry about keeping this dry and safe as my normal, active work/play schedule normally utilized more ruggedized/H2O-proof type gear. I'll just have to be careful!
