I bought this Samsung Gusto 2 to replace the exact same phone I own but was on it's way out. The fact that I'd run it through the laundry had a lot to do with that. But I didn't put my new phone into service right away. Life happened, and the old one was limping along. When it finally fell apart I pulled out my "reserve" phone and tried to set it up.
I installed the battery, making sure it was in the right way, and the phone remained without power. Okay -- they shipped it to me with a dead battery. Disappointing, but some products do that.
I plugged in the charger and it told me the battery is not supported. Yet this is the battery they shipped with the brand new phone.
I put the battery from my old phone in the new phone and it powered up without problem. I put the new battery in my old phone and was told it was a non-supported battery. Definitely the battery.
I have always loved my Samsung Gusto 2. It has served me well, and I expect the replacement will too. But if you buy one of these, be sure you assemble it and see if it works as soon as you get it. I waited too long and am being told that "The support window has closed". That too is disappointing.
