I am very tech savvy and tried all of the fixes before even contacting support, who then had me (infuriatingly) go through them all again to no avail. Samsung does not seem to wish to stand behind their product and replace this lemon that has never really worked right from the beginning.
Just got this back for the 2nd time from repair service who told me that my issue must be a Google account settings problem. Bloody useless. My phone is a Samsung and I have no problems. My prior Chromebook had no problems. Repair service told me that they were able to open web pages with their test account so it wasn't a hardware issue, yet I cannot get most web pages to load.
UPDATE: was told by Samsung to send it in a 3rd time and then they’d be able to replace it with a new unit. Before sending it back I decided to do some more digging and try to reinstall the Chrome OS as some sites recommended this. I did the reinstall and it did speed the it up, but still had connectivity issues. Did more digging and decided to try searching for the diagnostic results (captive portal error as well as firewall error, specifically ports 80 and 443) and a TON of results popped up with other Chromebook users having the same problem. The solution? Reboot your router. Simple as that, yet not one of the 4 “expert” techs I spoke with suggested it. 🤔 None of my other devices on the same router were having any connectivity issues so this must be a Chromebook thing?
