I have yet to see if this one has NFC on it. But I think I should have kept my old battery now. Now only did my old puffed up battery last longer. This one came to me dead. Took a LONG time to charge, and to top it off. Has about a 2o min runtime. No joke. From a 100% charge, that took almost 2 hours, you know something was wrong. And have a legit 5 amp usb Charger and great samsung cables.
Again, look at the bait and switch. It does not say (Discontinued by Manufacturer)]] when you order it. Only AFTER the order is placed.
And I thought I bought the best one since it was the highest priced, and of course the 6000 people that received the item rated it great.
I received mine in Portland Oregon, so not sure if that has something to do with it. And I can't vouch for weather it is the real deal or not. I am going to try out NFC when I can, but with the battery dropping from 100 to 90% in less than 5 min, that sure does not give me to much confidence. Time will tell if this unit shuts off randomly due to lack of amps coming from the battery pack.
If your original battery is Puffing. Just buy a larger back case for it. You might be better off with your now pregnet battery. :-)
So far the battery works, but since it came in at zero charge. Not even enough to start the phone, I think I will be looking to buy the extended battery version if I had to do it again. Or buy one for another person. If you live in California, or have a hot car, I would go with OEM guys. and Direct from samsung does not seem to be a bad idea. Course there US customer service sucks.
The battery I bought here is counterfeit. I suspected something was wrong when the battery charge got significantly worse after a few weeks, and I looked up how to identify fake Samsung batteries online.
The easiest way to tell if it is fake is to peel the label back, since counterfeiters have figured out how to make the outside appearance look identical to genuine batteries. Also, different genuine batteries of the same model will have differences in the labels, so you can't depend on the printed label alone.
The battery I received has two obvious hallmarks of counterfeit batteries, and a few others I won't describe here. First, the other side of the sticker label is shiny. Genuine Samsung batteries have the same dull grey color on both sides. Second, and most obvious, is that there is no NFC capability on this battery, and after peeling the label back, it is obviously missing the NFC antenna.
If you are suspicious about your battery, there are guides on Youtube to show you how to figure out if you have a fake or genuine battery. I would not at all be surprised that any battery under $10 is counterfeit, and much lower quality than a genuine battery. Overall I would not recommend buying a Samsung battery from anyone but a very trusted seller who guarantees genuine products. You might think, "Oh who cares if it is counterfeit as long as it works," but you'll end up wasting time and money dealing with crappy counterfeits if you aren't careful.
Not worth the hassle of shipping back, but I won't be buying cell phone batteries online ever again...I've lost faith
There is a 30-Day return policy for these batteries. Period. “Vicky” flatly refused an exchange/return. You may get lucky and get a better battery than I did, or you may get the same 30-day piece of junk. Roll the dice if you want; next time I’ll go for quality over price, and a warranty of some sort; You should too!
