Samsung designed a power cord that DOESN'T EVEN STAY IN THE JACK, which cost me valuable time and energy as I struggled (unsuccessfully) to use TAPE (are you kidding me??) to keep the cord tip in the jack, on TWO different monitors (I ordered a brand new replacement--same problem). This happens because the tip was designed with a very loose fit, and furthermore, it enters the jack UPSIDE-DOWN, so gravity makes it inevitably slip/fall out, causing the screen to flicker periodically, or just turn off completely). WHAT AN ENGINEERING EMBARRASSMENT, for an otherwise BEAUTIFUL curved 4K monitor, from a generally AWESOME display manufacturer. It's so disappointing to see such a beautiful monitor go to waste because of a simple "back-end" design flaw.

Oh, and to second a review I read on Samsung's website, HOW CAN YOU GUYS NOT PROVIDE VESA mountability? Or even USB ports? Or DisplayPort? What a shabby effort, Samsung.

OK with a few flaws

The image is great of course for color reproduction and glare reduction. Where it falls flat is in two areas. First is that the curve is not edge to edge. The curvature of the screen stops 6 inches from the sides, which means that if your eyes are not in the direct center of the screen the image appears to bend at the edges since the screen is only curved in the center 2/3 of the screen. Second is that it lacks modern ports (USB-c with power delivery) for a monitor released in 2019. Finally, it lacks a native VESA mount point, which limits it usability.

Although the specs won't wow a gamer into high refresh rates, this is a great monitor for those of us who want quality and high resolution but don't need the refresh rates of the more aggressive gaming monitors. The contrast ratio is fantastic and the glare is almost non existent thanks to both the matte screen and the curvature. I can finally open the blinds on the picture window behind my desk. I got 2 and run them side by side and the curvature is perfect. There is a nice stand that allows you to snake the cables within it and hide them in back for a very clean look. The blacks are super inky and they definitely look sexy sitting on a desk. If anybody is wondering the monitors sit roughly 3 1/2" off the desk surface on the stand and there are no vesa mount holes.

Misleading and Display Panel Issue

This was going to be my first ever Samsung product of any kind. I was really excited to hook my brand new MacBook Pro up with the USB C display port connection that is clearly shown in the picture on both Amazon and Samsungs website but I was very disappointed to find the actual product does not have it. It has the full display port. If you go to Samsung website it doesn't even list it as an input source, only HDMI. My guess is they intended to put the USB C style input on in the early renders but then changed there mind and still don't have the actual outcome even listed.
And there is a problem with the panel as I attached the picture of. It is hard to take a picture of a display but it is exceptionally annoying.

Great editing monitor for the price

I use this monitor as my main monitor for editing photos, videos, and playing the occasional video game. I have been very impressed with the color and clarity it produces for each of these tasks. The detail you get when playing the video games on ultra settings is amazing. When editing the photos I am able to clearly see the details that I need to edit and with the color accuracy I'm able to ensure that I have my white balance set correctly. I only wish I had come across this monitor sooner.

The packaging: The monitor was packaged in a way that was easy to open and pull the monitor out of.

Setup: The stand for the monitor was easy to assemble and even provided a channel for the cables to run through so that you can keep your desk clean.

Use: Using this monitor for photo and video editing is solid. For its price point you can't beat the size, color, and clarity.

If your in the market for a monitor that you can use to edit photos, videos, and you like to play video games, this one won't disappoint.

Awful stand none adjustable

Before buying the Samsung Samsung u32r59c I called Samsung customer service to ask a couple questions, one being as to the screen glossy or anti-glare I told him I preferred glossy he said he believed it was glossy, it's not. I can get a pretty good picture but not as vibrant or real depth like on my Dell 24 inch with glossy screen. The problem why I really hate this monitor is the none adjustable stand, it is the most inconvenient I have ever owned no height adjustment at all.
The least Samsung could do is make Vesa adaptor for it, this stand is total nonsense.
I don't like returning items but this seams like a waste of $500.00. I'm going to try and makeshift an adaptor for the vesa arm so we can have some height adjustment. I wouldn't recommend this Samson because of the basic features
especially the stand. Really hate this monitor.

Very nice monitor

I paired it up with a EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 ultra gaming, and a i9-9900x.

Out of the box it is configured as a computer monitor, so no settings needed.
Attached it with the (included) HDMI cable.
Windows 10 booted, and ran right with it, no settings or adjustments needed.

Prior to the monitor I had configured windows to use winaero, to increase the
application windows borders. I'm sure with the resolution brought by this
monitor the border would have gone invisible (lines too thin).

I'm nearsighted, and need "monitor glasses" (reading glasses for 1 to 3 feet).
I set the monitor back for 1.5 feet, and all angles are in full focus.

The only game I play is World of Warcraft. I configured warcraft display
properties for maximum everything. Set screen size for full. Adjusted track
ball for accelerated movement, so that I could sweep the screen without removing
my thumb from the ball. All I can say is WOW ! 60 Hz is perfectly fine for
World of Warcraft. Screens are incredible.

This monitor is a "keeper".

First, for the positive point: this is a very nice looking design externally.

I only give three stars because this display is announced as 60hz and will only display 30hz @ full resolution which is misleading because it is advertized as 60hz (i would have assume at full resolution). 30hz means sloooooow when moving anything around.
I tried on 2 different computers and with both the provided hdmi 2.0 cable and also with a display port 1.2 cable that i unfortunatly had to buy separatly because they don't provide any.

Setup is a bit tricky to have wires go through the 'cable management' integrated into the stand but with some patience i managed it. Notice that because of its size, and also of the very tiny stand, it is easy to drop this screen from your desk, stand doesn't grip alot, only 3 tiny little rubber feets are standing between earth and your costly investment.

Finally, because of the pixel/screen ratio, this screen will only be usable at 125% in windows 10. Linux doesn't support fractionnal screen scqling out of the box. I know it is possible but have not been able to get there yet.

So overall, mainly because of its 30hz limitation, it is quite a deception. If it was 60 i would have gave it 5 stars.

I had read conflicting reviews about whether or not this monitor is wall/desk mountable. It is not. I had planned to install this on a two monitor desk mount in my home office, replacing an ASUS 4k monitor I've had for a couple of years. I was going to take the ASUS onsite to an office I have at a client's location. When I realized it wasn't going to work I brought this Samsung monitor to that office. I had trouble getting my Dell Docking Station to recognize it as a 4k monitor on a HDMI connection, but when I switched to a DisplayPort cable it worked fine. The monitor itself is sharp and the curve is nice, particularly if you like to work close to your monitor.

I am very disappointed with this monitor! Since the first day I've received it I see HDMI connection always fail. The screen quality is kind of frozen and the brightness is terrible! Even exchanging the HDMI cable it doesn't work. The connecting between HDMI and the monitor intermittently fails and the monitor turns from total white or black and images with lots of glitches. I tried other computers and the same issue happens....
If you want it for gaming, the picture quality is awful too.
