Great for what I needed.

I have a small amount of space in my room that I could use for my tv, the old one I had for about, 12 years, it wasn't a samsung, but it worked great up until recently(it had a built in vhs player....it tried to eat the tapes), and it refused to pick up any channels or even connect to my 360 within the last few months. So I decided to find a new tv.

I wanted something that would fit in the space I had, about 24 inches were available, and it had to have a good picture since I would use it for gaming, as well has being with in my budget. Looked around at all the stores in my area and nothing really fit the bill. So I came here to look around, found a few others that looked like they would work, but this is the one that I liked best.

It came quickly, and I had it set up(almost) completly after opening it. The only thing that I didn't know about was that it had a built in scanner, or whatever it's called that allows you to pick up the channels if you don't have cable or satlilite. I had a converter box before, and so I had it set up with the box, and the TV wouldn't pick up any channels. My dad is the one that figured out that I didn't need the box and now I get more channels that I didn't before with my old tv and the box. So that's a plus.

Cons:
That they didn't say that it had a built in analog signal detector thing. I spent like 2 hours trying to figure out why it didn't pick up channels.

I definatly would say that others should get this tv, they come in other sizes besides this one. It's great and I'm very happy with it!

Good, with a Couple of Limitations

I bought this to replace a Sharp Aquos on the kitchen counter, a TV not connected to a cable box, only a cable outlet, so I wasn't looking for great quality but I am disappointed nonetheless. A very basic this TV doesn't have is the base can not tilt. The TV is very vertical and when I am at the counter, I like to be able to tilt it back. Silly, I know, but seems to me the base could have some moves. Also, maybe silly, but the TV is very short so the viewing angle is below my basic sight. I have it on a book for now until I can find some permanent perch. The TV might be better served on a mount, under a cabinet, to give it a better range of motion.
The setup was okay, except I opted for auto and found it also loaded all the scrambled channels. Happily, there is a setup feature to remove all scrambled channels from the line up. I think for my needs the TV will be fine, once I position it more successfully.

Great TV for bedroom or office

I bought this TV for my home office. My exercise bike is in my office and at the end of the day I ride it while watching the news. Occasionally I watch some other type programming on it as well. The picture is great and so is the sound. I was surprised that a TV this thin could include speakers that would sound so good. I have it in the corner of a bookcase, so this probably helps direct the sound forward. I wouldn't be happy with this quality of sound for my main TV in the living room, but for a small set in my office it is perfect. And the sound is more than adequate for the music channels as well.

I highly recommend it for bedrooms and other small rooms, especially if you plan to place it in a cabinet or against a wall so that the sound will project.

HOWEVER, as other reviewers have pointed out, this TV does not have audio outputs. This was not important to me, but if you are planning to hook this TV up to an audio system or even just powered speakers, you will be disappointed since there is no way to do it.

Purchased to replace a CRT bedroom TV. It has a very good picture,to be expected for Samsung. It was a bit smaller than I wanted, picture-wise but that's my fault for not measuring.

Only downside, the channel search finds both the analog cable and digital over air channels, but forces you to switch between cable and air to view both signal types. The LG, I have puts them together.

I added a small antenna with a VHF/UHF blocking combiner to pick up local low power HD channels in UHF and add them to the cable signal. The cable system doesn't use these UHF frequencies (channels), so there's no interference

There may be a way to watch both signal types without switching, but I haven't found it.

Audio From Internal Speakers Are Just Acceptable

The audio from TV in larger room might be unacceptable for many people. There are no audio out jacks on the TV, so I bought external speakers (Logitechs) and grab audio from my cable box which has audio out jacks (I use the RCAs). Sound via the external speakers are great. LED do have the problem that one needs to view video directly in front to have best quality (if you view from side or above or below the video is poor (especially color). But, all LEDs are that way. I prefer the old Cathode Ray Tubes, but can't buy CRTs very easily. My old Sony CRT has much better video quality, IMHO

Great Picture - Poor Sound

I gave this 3 stars because, although the 19" Samsung LED has a great picture, the sound is pretty poor. I actually knew this from reading reviews prior to my purchase, but planned to add external speakers. Unfortunately I was not able to do this successfully even with help from my electrical engineer brother. Hooking up speakers in the only way possible (without an additional pre-amp) resulted in a continuous "hum". The speakers I used (new) checked out fine hooked to another device. I went back online and looked at reviews of other 19" LED TVs and the Toshiba 19L4200U was rated highly. I purchased it, hooked up the speakers and all was good. I have bought many products through Amazon and occasionally, as in this case, an item needs to be returned. I have no problem with this since it is an easy process to do so.

I bought this television thinking that it was not going to be as good. The TV has a great view and picture quality. I have had months with it and have enjoyed watching movies, cartoons, and the news. I really recommend people to buy this TV for the kitchen, office or small room spaces because of its small frame and light weight to carry around. The only reason I did not give it five star rating was because of the limited speaker range since there is no way to hook up external speakers.
