A year later I upgraded my phone to the Galaxy Note, and one more after, to the Galaxy Note II. Used it until last week, when I bought the Galaxy Note 3.
In time of holding the phone, still works great. The problem comes when charging.
With all these previous devices this mount worked perfectly, 'cause they all have the same type-b micro-usb connector, placed right in the middle of the bottom, and which also coincide with the gap between the legs that supports the phone.
The little big difference with the Note 3, is that this one has the 3.0 micro-USB connector, which is wider than the leg's gap, so the new cable won't fit between them.
And even if you use the normal micro-usb cable (which btw also works fine for charging and sync), the phone's connector is placed a little to the right, so the cable wont get in place right.
You can connect the cable first and then fit into the mount, but when you try to hold the phone tight with the side arms, the cable will touch the right leg, and eventually will damage the connector.
Having survived more than 2 years of heavy use (i drive almost 6 hours a day, and my phone is always there), and almost without a scratch, I didn't wanted to retire it from work, so the solution I found, was to drill/wear the left side of the right leg, until the cable fits normal, without touching the leg itself. You can see few pics of my "ugly" solution in the customer images (ugly only for the esthetics), but at least with this solution, the mount will still work for my Note 3.Read more ›
And when Samsung gets better at the SIRI thing so you can really just talk to it and get something intelligent going, the mount is going to be just where you want it. I had the original Droid which came with a great vehicle mount from Motorola that would fit only it, and this is easily better. The one button release is a great idea.
I use it to drive four miles to work each way over streets I already know, and put my phone in the mount because it is cool and out of habit. That S3 is way better size and screen clarity than the original Droid -- just made for navigation.
The two side clamps pop apart to full width extension by simply pressing a button on the back. Then you simply press them together to lock in to the exact width of your phone. Even works with a large phone like the Galaxy Note II.
Even though the photo shows the holder positioned vertically (portrait mode) it can be rotated to be used horizontally (landscape mode) equally well. The entire holder can also be tilted up or down, or left to right for any angle that works best.
Wasn't clear for me from the product detail that this can be used on the windshield. It definitely can, and it's secured with powerful suction.
The only thing is that this is a little bulky, so instead of securing it at the height of my rearview mirror where it can block my vision, I place it on the windshield just above my dashboard so it's below my line of sight while driving. It works perfectly there, and because I have a large phone (Galaxy Note II "Phablet"), I actually prefer that in case a huge bump pops the mount from the windshield (hasn't ever happened, but just in case) and drops the phone. It if happens at that height, it's right above the dashboard, so the phone is safe. That being said, the suction is amazing and it doesn't seem possible that could happen.
Glad I purchased this for my new Note II. Makes it very easy to use the phone for navigation or for handsfree talking, music, etc. while in the car.
Comes with a car charger too!

It works great especially with a hands-free device I have one in every vehiclePublished 7 days ago by Amazon Customer
Easy to adjust, & holds well to the windshield. The base is separate from the actual "holder", so it's easy to store. Read morePublished 16 days ago by Amazon Customer
Great holder but the bottom left piece of plastic covers the ear phone jack. If you use Bluetooth its not a problem obviously but I drive a jeep so need the jack to hear anything.Published 17 days ago by Amazon Customer
Such an amazing product. Living in Arizona, it frequently falls off my windshield in the summer but I deal with it.Published 20 days ago by Aaron Schiefelbein
