I'm an invalid (wheelchair-bound) and reside in a nursing facility. I rely on Amazon Prime to order my San Pellgrino (both the water and the flavoured soda) by the case. On par, the Aranciata Rossa costs me less per can (INCLUSIVE of delivery charge, factoring in my car's petrol pricing) than when I was able to walk and drive to market for in-person, over-the-counter purchase. My water deliveries are essential for my ongoing chronic health needs and the hospital water quality (even filtered) is dubious, so I am well pleased (as are all staff and co-patients with whom I share my rationed indulgences). Santé! ¡Salud y vida!

Flavor Name: Aranciata Rossa (Blood Orange)
I've become addicted to this slightly bitter mixture of the sparkling mineral water from Northern Italy's Lombardy region and the blood orange (aranciata rossa) from Sicily.

The problem is, at 140 calories per 11.15 ounce can (and a whopping 32 grams of sugar), I have to watch my intake. If you are watching either calorie and/or sugar values of what you consume this is one to occasionally enjoy. The real irony is I am attracted by the bitterness which is predominate despite the high sugar content.

I will admit that this is refreshing, and especially so on a humid Florida day. However, since it is a guilty pleasure I have a ritual in which I serve mine in a fancy flute to remind myself that enjoying one is a special occasion to be savored.

In a perfect world I could drink as many as I wanted with no adverse affects. Alas, I do not live in such a world - but mine is made a little brighter when I have one of these.

Flavor Name: Pompelmo (Grapefruit)
I generally get the San Pellegrino combo pack of orange and lemon soda from costco because of their terrific pricing.
I decided to try the San Pellegrino Blood Orange and Grapefruit sodas on a whim since I like the Lemon and Orange so much.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! The grapefruit is the best sparkling beverage I have tried to date. While I enjoy Texas ruby red grapefruits for eating, the white grapefruit used in these drinks is absolutely amazing. It is a genuine treat to tip your glass towards your mouth and have your nose tingle from the tart fizziness and the noticeable smell of the grapefruit. The taste is perfect with no odd aftertaste.
I have never been a fan of traditional sodas (i.e. coke, sprite, etc), but have tried many of the "natural" sodas that use sugar as a sweetener during the past few years. I am especially fond of the San Pellegrino sparkling beverages because they all have a very crisp, sweet, but still tart taste and have real fruit juices and very little else in them. They are terrific ice cold on our hot/humid Georgia summer afternoons. They are the definition of refreshing and make terrific mixers with all manner of liquors/liqeurs.
A favorite summer evening pick me up is a Hendrick's gin and grapefruit with either fresh muddled mint or pineapple sage in the glass--made with the San Pellegrino grapefruit it is divine!

Flavor Name: Aranciata (Orange)
Disclaimer: I get these locally, so am not going to delve into areas like how shipping costs make this expensive. My focus is on the product itself. Compared to the San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa (Blood Orange) Sparkling Water, which is bitter (in a good way), this one is light and sweet. It's perfect on a hot humid day.

As noted by others this (and the rest of the juice flavored sparkling waters from San Pellegrino) have a high sugar and calorie content. At 140 calories and 32 grams of sugar this is not a drink you want to toss down one after another if you are watching your caloric or sugar intakes. Put another way, a 12 ounce can of Classic Coke contains less calories (90) and sugar (27 grams). I am saying this to show a stark comparison, not to promote Coke (which I do not drink at all.) Just be aware of the nutritional values and then enjoy a can when you want to treat yourself.

What I love is the flavors of Italy in the can. This has the sparkling mineral waters from Northern Italy's Lombardia region and the citrus of Sicily. To my palate it's a perfect combination.

See the photo that I uploaded at the top of this page and you will note the color. It's not artificially orange, but natural as though you used fresh oranges and a juicer to squeeze them. It's the natural look and flavor that keeps me addicted.

See the photo I uploaded at the top of this page for a visual of how the juice color is a natural, pale as though you extracted it from fresh oranges. No artificial orange coloring was used, which is a plus in my opinion.

First off, all of the San Pellegrino Sparkling fruit beverages are fantastic Italian style sodas! I only wish Amazon would carry the San Pellegrino Chinotto (bitter orange flavor Italian soda), as it seems this flavor in particular is quite hard to find. In fact I can't find it at a decent price and in large quantities at all within a 110 mile radius of my city!

Now I must say that the price was right for this product when I ordered it, but the shipping method didn't work out so well. The box was pretty beat-up, the corners seemed crushed and the walls were bending. The box was really a little too big and the bubble-padding material was either popped during shipment or not inflated when it was packed. For a product like this, it should be properly padded, as these types of carbonated beverages can explode or leak when the cans get dropped or dented. Many of the cans were dented. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the package was dropped or had heavier boxes on top of it. The carrier may have had no idea what was inside, but Amazon did.

I felt lucky that none of the beverages exploded or leaked, being that most of them were dented around the edges of the tops and bottoms. Maybe this was just a problem with my individual shipment? It is just soda, but I think it deserves to arrive in new condition like any other item and not banged up.

Overall, this product is wonderful. I would consider ordering it again as long as the price is comparable to buying it locally, but I hope my next order is packaged and handled with a little more care.

Update 3/20/12: I found this product to be much cheaper in the same quantities at a local club/warehouse type of store... I am now leery about about having items such as soda cans shipped and even more reluctant to re-order if the price is higher than what I can buy it for locally.
