When I bought my Canon T1i, I ordered this card along with it. I didn't do any mistake while buying it! Its been a month now and I am enjoying this card a lot. I should have ordered a higher capacity card though. I prefer shooting in RAW mode, which demands lot of storage e.g. Approx. 20 MB / image. Considering card can hold about 250 images in all, its really necessary that I keep transferring photos from card everyday. Otherwise, I have chance to clear some space by deleting unwanted photos. In the middle of shoot, this is not so good idea.
Finally I decided to buy a higher capacity card. I chose [[ASIN:B0015AOK1O Transcend 16 GB Class 6 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS16GSDHC6]] this time. There was $10 difference between SanDisk 4GB and Transcend 16GB card. Both of them were class 6 cards and I thought it should be ok. Amazon reviews were good for both the cards.
Finally I received the Transcend card today and first thing I noticed was, speed! SanDisk is way faster than Transcend!
I did setup a simple test to measure the speed of both cameras. Here is what I did...
Canon 500 D (T1i) + Canon 50mm 1.8 lens in Manual Focus mode + 1/50 sec exposure + Continuous shooting mode + f1.8
I took 15 photos with each card. Manual focus was used to avoid any focusing time. I was just interested in knowing the speed of the operation. Results were as following:
SanDisk - 15 photos - Camera started taking pause after 9 shots - Total time required to finish writing 15 images was 20 seconds.
Transcend - 15 photos - Camera started taking pause after 8 shots - Total time required to finish writing 15 images was 39 seconds.
The speed was almost double compared to Transcend.
If speed is concern, then you look no further. SanDisk is the way to go. If you just want a good, high-capacity memory card for cheap then you can skip this card.

Good cards but loose or missing lock sliders might cause them to read as locked

These SD cards arrived quickly and I checked all of them in my computer to make sure they had full capacity available before packing them for my trip to Mexico. They did. They each had 8gb of space available.
I then put each into my waterproof point and shoot camera to make sure the camera could read them. Three of the SD cards worked perfectly. Two of them gave me the error "protected storage". The issue being that those one of those SD cards had loose lock sliders and one of them was missing a slider all together. When I would insert the card into the camera, the loose slider would move into the locked position. And the SD card without a slider would just read as locked in my device. No amount of wiggling or speed change fixed this issue. Finally I had to use tape to trick my camera into thinking that the SD cards were unlocked. It was an easy solution but it wasn't one I wanted to deal with on vacation. I had to retape the slider spot every time I removed the SD card. Annoying but at least the cards were of good quality other than that minor defect and for the price I guess I can deal with a little annoyance.

An upgrade in READ speed, write speeds vary

The SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s is a new card that replaces the Ultra 40MB/s. The 80MB/s is the read speed only. SanDisk refers to the write speed as Class 10, which means the card maintains at least 10MB/s continuous write, but does not state a maximum write speed. I tested the following Ultra 80MB/s cards: (2) 32GB, 64GB and 128GB and compare with the previous Ultra 40MB/s cards. I use CrystalDiskMark benchmark (5 passes, 1GB random data) and USB 3.0 card reader.

32GB (1) Read: 94.2 MB/s Write: 43.0 MB/s
32GB (2) Read: 97.7 MB/s Write: 20.9 MB/s
64GB Read: 82.4 MB/s Write: 19.1 MB/s
128GB Read: 97.7 MB/s Write: 38.5 MB/s
SanDisk Ultra 40MB/s (old version, 2014-2015)
32GB Read: 47.8 MB/s Write: 19.9 MB/s

READ Speed: Ultra 80MB/s cards exceed 80MB/s read speed and are much faster than the old version. This allows fast downloads from the card to your computer when used with a USB 3.0 card reader. Using USB 2.0 it limits the speed to about 35MB/s.
WRITE Speed: Benchmarks can be deceiving! The benchmarks show a big difference in write speed between cards. One 32GB card measured 43MB/s but one from a different source was 20.9MB/s. When writing actual files the write speed varies during transfer. The 128GB card benchmark was 38.5MB/s write, but transferring a large file I see a range between 16-24MB/s throughout the transfer. Only the faster 32GB card was able to maintain above 40MB/s write speed for the duration. There was also a big difference in 512K random write performance between cards (~1MB/s vs 20-24MB/s).
Write speed of 15-20MB/s seems to be typical of Ultra cards. They are good for general photography, but not fast enough for extended continuous shooting. Once you hit the buffer limit in the camera it can become very sluggish if the write speed is not high enough. If you only take one shot at a time the write speed speed should be sufficient.
I am tempted to remove a star because of the variance between cards, but all cards exceeded their speed ratings. The improved READ speed over the previous version is a benefit. Actual write speed may not be much better than the older cards. You might get an extra fast sample, but do not buy this card expecting outstanding write performance!

I've been using three of these for motorsports photography for a few months. Most of the time they're fine. I do run into problems when using continuous shutter mode. Because I'm recording big RAW files, the class 6 card can't keep up. The camera takes three or four exposures and then disables the shutter button while it takes a time out, announcing that it's "busy". I've missed some great moments while this happened.
These cards are a lot faster than my class 4 cards, but I guess I'll need class 10 to do everything I want to do.

Latest 45MB/s SDHC - Great Card!

I just received the card today, so not a lot of time logged... But it is smokin' fast! I had some issues recording 1080/30fps on my D5100 with previous PNY Professional card. Several tests with HD video and consecutive still frame bursts never even hiccuped! I'm 99.4% sure this is going to cure all of the past woes. (The PNY is now relegated to my sweet new Samsung TL500. No HD video on it, so No worries!)
What I wanted to point out to those looking is that this IS the latest 45MB/s SDHC Extreme 16GB card. AND it's at the same or better price as others selling the previous models!
Maybe I'm the only one that's confused about the different versions of the SanDisk SDHC cards. But I searched and searched trying to make sure I was getting the latest card instead of overpaying for old stock. I even contacted SanDisk, and their customer support didn't even know that the Extreme is now 45MB/s! They actually told me that I would have to buy the (now outdated and overpriced) SDSDXP1-016G to get 45MB/s. I researched this for a couple of evenings, and still knew enough to explain to SanDisk that the SDSDXPA-016G is the new version of what they told me to buy, and it's now 95MB/s for the same price!
So here's the breakdown of what I found as of 3/22/12:
Lower price Extreme SDHC:
SDSDRX3-016G - 30MB/s - OLD
SDSDX-016G - 45MB/s - CURRENT (Apparently Brand New)
Higher price Extreme Pro SDHC:
SDSDXP1-016G - 45MB/s - OLD
SDSDXPA-016G - 95MB/s - CURRENT
The cards are all about the same price if you buy the same classification and GB size. (A 16GB Extreme is going to be twenty-five to thirty bucks regardless if it's 20MB/s, 30MB/s, or 45MB/s.)
I don't know if you really need this Extreme card vs. Ultra or Extreme Pro. You can determine that... But don't Overpay for the same performance! Be sure you Get the Latest Version of whichever you choose.

The quality of this card is relative to how you plan on using it. I bought it last year to use in my point and shoot digital camera (12MP) while on vacation and it worked perfectly. No, a year later, I've bought a DSLR and found it just wasn't up to snuff. My DSLR (26MP) creates files of too large a size for this card to quickly save. Want to take one picture? Fine, but be prepared to wait 20+ seconds for it to be fully saved onto the card, during which time you will be unable to take any other photos. Want to shoot in burst mode? Forget about it; it's not going to work.
What I had been unaware of when I first bought this card is that memory cards have speed ratings which indicate how quickly they can process the data you want to write on them. To further complicate things, there are two types of ratings, Speed Class and Ultra High Speed. Speed classes come in four ratings, C2, C4, C6, and C10, which means they can write data at a rate of 2MB/s, 4MB/s, 6MB/s, and 10MB/s, respectively, or UHS comes in UHS U1 and U3, which writes at speeds of 10MB/s and 30MB/s. The higher the MB/s, the better the card.
This card writes at a C4 speed (as indicated by the number 4 encircled by a C on the label). It's a decent speed for smaller files, but considering a RAW photo files can be rather large, if you're shooting high res, RAW files, this is not the card for you. It will absolutely freeze up your camera.
If you are interested in an SD card for a DSLR, look at something like the [[ASIN:B00IF4O6V2 Lexar Professional 600x 32GB SDHC UHS-I Flash Memory Card LSD32GCRBNA600]]. Since switching to the C10/U1 Lexar, I've been infinitely more happy with my camera. The Sandisk C4 32GB remains in my point and shoot, where it's better suited.
