This product is working as described. I've noticed some reviewers are having some problems getting it connected to wifi. It might be the simple solution of downloading the right app from the app store. San Disk has 2-3 different apps for different flash drives, so when I downloaded the first app I saw, it did not work getting this stick connected to wifi. I then read the startup guide and noticed that I downloaded the wrong app. I got the right app and, voila! It works perfectly! SO make sure you are reading the guide that is included in the stick itself. It will show you the correct app to use! I've included a pic of what the app looks like.

It's Great, But Not Perfect

Another review said that basic work related files were not supported, I can gladly say that is FALSE. The user guide for the product is a PDF. I have even tried Microsoft Document files and PowerPoint files and they all work well. Okay, now you can read my review.

Review:

I just received my Sandisk Connect Wireless Stick today in the mail, and so far I love it. This review won't be too long, since I haven't experienced more than 24 hours with this product yet, so I don't have too much to say about it.

Build Quality: To start off, the build is quite nice and I like the texture of the flash drive as well. One design flaw to me is that you can only put the cap on one way, so I've mixed it up a few times already, oh well.

Functionality: Next, functionality, it works just as you expect it to. I loaded up Iron Man 3 and streamed it to my iPhone, no lag at all, even when I skip throughout the movie. Pictures and music work well also, there is an option to create a slideshow for your photos, which is a nice touch. You are able to download pictures or videos to your device from the flash drive as well. The app has a built in music player, but you cannot skip throughout the song, which seems odd to me. It has worked well for me on all the major platforms, smartphones (through their app), tablets and computers. My biggest complaint is that the connector is USB 2.0, I think Sandisk really could have made this product stellar with a USB 3.0 connector.

The App: The app performs okay, it definitely isn't 100% polished, but it works. I have found a few bugs, which aren't huge and I'm sure they will be fixed soon enough. In the app you can upload or download files to the flash drive, I haven't had any problems with this. Another cool feature is AutoBackUp for your devices camera roll. The flash drive can store single photos or an entire album, and even videos. After you're done taking pictures and videos, the next time you connect to the flash drive it will begin backing them up.

**UPDATED**
Battery: Battery life has been phenomenal. I left this thing unplugged and turned off for more than two weeks and it's still got 90% charge (left it at 93%). Really can't complain about that. With moderate use I got a little more than a week. And with heavy use (I'm talking like you're on this thing all day) I got 3-4 days. My final word for the battery life is, wonderful.

Crash and Burn!

In form, being ultra compact and lite, this device is excellent, but in function it has some significant flaws. First, data transfer is relatively slow, so if you have thousands of pictures and hundreds of videos like me, it could take literally days to get it all backed up. The distance between the device and what it is connected to also plays a significant role in how well it performs. Ideally you want it as close as possible. Second, the app is very unstable and it crashes A LOT! After a crash, when you do get it back up and running, instead of resuming where it left off, it starts from scratch. This can be very frustrating, specially if you had spent a great deal of time and effort in selecting what you wanted and didn’t want transferred. I’ve also found, the more you store in it, the slower the device responds. Another caveat, the app and device will not backup or transfer any files unless you actually have the app open and up on your screen. If you need to switch between apps or use your device in any other way, text, phone call, etc, transfers will temporarily be halted. If you’re lucky, the app will resume transferring when you open it back up, however, that’s rarely the case. It’ll almost always freezes up or crashes on you. Due to these issues, I don’t really see this device as a total backup or memory expansion solution. If you just need to occasionally move a few files here and there, this device is fine, but anything more and you may regret your purchase. Battery life is acceptable but nothing to rave about. You can always hook it up to a portable power source if it does get low on the go. I was originally going to rate this device at a modest 3 stars, but after spending almost a week trying to back up my 128gb iPhone, due to the countless crashes, today my pc is telling me the files on the drive itself are now currupt! I’m going to have to dump everything on it, reformat the unit and start all over again. 11,000 Images, 550 videos, and 5 days of work wasted! Terribly disappointed!

La SanDisk connect è sostanzialmente un Nas, solo molto più piccolo, con una batteria e in grado di creare una rete propria dove i dispositivi possano connettersi per condividere file.
Esaminiamo i Pro e i contro:

Pro:
-Form factor davvero ottimo, la chiavetta risulta essere davvero molto piccola per quello che è in grado di fare;
-Estetica che a me personalmente piace molto, sul fronte troviamo una fantasia a rombi, mentre sul retro plastica satinata che da una sensazione di qualità;
-Non impiega molto a ricaricarsi, e la durata della batteria, dipendentemente dall’intensità dell’utilizzo si attesta intorno alle tre ore.

Contro:
-E’ un usb 2.0, ciò significa che non supererà velocità di trasferimento superiori ai 12 mega;
-WiFi a 2.4 Ghz, che ha una portata superiore rispetto ai 5 Ghz, ma è anche più lento;
-La velocità di trasferimento tramite WiFi si attesta sui 2.5 MB, che va bene per streaming in full HD, ma per risoluzioni maggiori, o file di grandi dimensioni non è adatta.
-L’applicazione davvero PESSIMA.

Vorrei soffermarmi un po’ di più su come interfacciarsi con la chiavetta, per collegarci per forza di cose ci viene imposto di utilizzare l’applicazione, a mio parere pessima (versione android, non ho provato quella apple) perché presenta molti bug grafici, non supporta l’orientamento orizzontale, a volte ha qualche difficoltà a connettersi, e nel caso volessimo vedere un video ci imporrà il proprio player (scadente).
Fortunatamente la situazione può essere migliorata, la chiavetta ha anche un interfaccia web davvero ottima e semplice da usare, semplicemente dopo esserci connessi alla chiavetta con l’applicazione dovremo conoscere l’IP a cui collegarci, (quello della mia chiavetta è 172.25.63.1:80 ma non so se sia lo stesso per tutti, in fondo vi lascio la procedura per conoscerlo nel caso questo non funzionasse), inserirlo nella barra URL del browser et voila, avremo un interfaccia che non crasha e potremo usare il player del browser che usiamo.

Nonostante i molti contro trovo che questo oggettino sia davvero utile per chi vuole avere un media center portatile e senza molte pretese o per chi deve spostare file non troppo grossi tra tanti dispositivi diversi.

**Per conoscere l’IP della vostra chiavetta vi consiglio di scaricare l’applicazione netscan dal play store, che analizza la rete e vi mostra tutti gli IP utili, una volta aperta in basso dovrebbe esserci un pulsante con su scritto net scan, cliccatelo e lui inizierà la ricerca, vi mostrerà diversi ip, cliccate quello con l’80 verde, e poi cliccate la scritta verde, vi si aprirà il browser e si connetterà automaticamente alla chiavetta.

I like this stick, it's freed up a lot of space on my ipad4, and its password protected. The problem is you need to use it via a free app from iTunes, but I didn't realise you need to have certain iOS to use it. So I had thought this would be great for myself and others to use, like my wife's iPad and iPhone4 and my iPhone4,but they are too old to get the free app on, so can't use it. Its easy to change the password, and its name that's seen in the wi-fi connection list, also you can use it whilst it's on charge. It doesn't play videos continually, you need to select them one at a time, I contacted SanDisk to ask them how to make it play continually, and they told me it doesn't. Although it doesn't do exactly what I thought it would for the money,which is a lot, I've kept it knowing it's only of use to me personally in my family, and I can always have all my music and photos with me.

Best electronic storage product of a bit expensive but I bought two anyway. I would buy more if these were cheaper as SSD memory prices have dropped significantly over last two years. I would also prefer it if the built in battery was replaceable by the user. Currently, you have buy a new one if the battery fails after warranty period. Also warranty period of just one year for a SOLID STATE DEVICE with no mechanical moving parts is a bit stingy. Manufacturers should be offering 5 years for what they cost AND IF THEY HAVE FAITH IN THEIR PRODUCT, DESIGN, AND QUALITY CONTROL. I await their response. Still waiting!!

Took it on a 2 week holiday with no wi-fi and it worked perfectly. Was using it to play films using VLC media player to get round limited storage on apple devices. Connect to the stick's wi-fi, use the San-Disk Connect Drive app, find the film and start playing it. Found that could stutter a bit, so hit the upload button and then Open In, and after it's done the download you can send it to VLC and then you can watch it at your leisure. Little bit of a faff but works when you get the hang of it.

Great idea but useless for films / files if over 5gb

I bought this to stream films on the go. Having owned the previous version (little square box) I wanted an upgrade and thought this could do it but I was wrong!

It takes for ever to write (or copy) and an example of this is 10GB file took over 20mins. I own allot of sandisk products and this task can be done in less then 5 mins!

Then when you want to watch the film it will not stream it. Even if you use VLC it still does not work effectively.

Very disappointed with this as it had great potential.
