THANK YOU SANDISK! This is THE slimmest flash drive I was able to find. It's so small that I can leave it plugged into my laptop all the time. It only sticks out a quarter inch perhaps. Since I'm using a macbook air with a heinously small hard drive, this low-pro flash drive is a perfect supplement storage partition. For example, I keep all my TV shows on it so as to free up space on my computer for programs etc.

Tiny but powerful with great features such as password protection and easy file backup function. It comes with standard encryption but other features such as military encryption, automated backup, and Cloud/other device synchronization are available through a reasonably priced upgrade. For everyday use though, really an upgrade isn't needed. All files are password protected anyway. Great for sensitive data and also pictures, resumes, correspondence, etc. Can also be used to move files from the main device to create more memory space. It measures well under an inch across and can be easily stored and carried anywhere. 16GB. Lots of space! It's especially good for smaller devices such as tablets but it worked great on a full size laptop too. SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 16GB USB 2.0 Low-Profile Flash Drive- SDCZ33-016G-B35

I have the 16 GB and the 32 GB. These are my saving grace on my laptop. They don't stick out at all compared to other USB's so I never bump them and they easily go everywhere the laptop goes. I bought the first one (16 GB) in 2010 when I was in college because I didn't want files slowing down my computer but I also didn't want a large external drive that I had to haul around. I don't take them out of my computer ever. I bought them almost 5 years ago and they are still holding up. These are one of my favorite purchases. I would be so upset if they ever failed me but so far so good! They store all of my files, music, pictures, anything I need. Thank you SanDisk for making such a wonderful product.

I bought this particular USB flash drive for a car stereo. The low profile of this drive is perfect for USB equipped car stereos, and my removable face plate will fit in its protective cover with this drive still plugged in. Not having to unplug the drive every single time you remove the face plate is a huge plus.

From the product photo, you might (as I did) think that there is a small LED mounted in the top of the drive as a Read / Write indicator (and there is one, however it is recessed into the unit and invisible unless active), but that is actually a tiny metal loop. The loop is there so you can thread the loop with string so you have more of a purchase on the drive when unplugging. Otherwise, the drive is so low profile, you may not be able to easily grasp it. Also you may want to thread that loop just so you don't lose the drive!

If you've ever used a Bluetooth equipped wireless mouse on your laptop, this drive is pretty much the same size as the USB Bluetooth receiver you'd plug into the computer.

For reference, 32GB = Approximately 167 CDs worth of MP3 music at 320 kbps, or 222 hours of music at 320 kbps.
Approximately 417 CDs worth of MP3 music at 128 kbps, or 556 hours of music at 128 kbps.

This is a real nice memory unit for applications where you are just leaving it in a particular USB port most of the time. I bought this to load it up with music for my car. It will hold like 150 CD's worth of music in MP3 format. I wanted a memory stick which didn't stick out of the USB port very much because the port I am plugging it into is in the center console of my car and a longer stick risks getting hit or bent when you take other things in and out of the console. This unit is difficult to pull out of the port because there is not much to grab onto. There is a little hole in the end of it for tying a lanyard to for easier removal. This one didn't come with a lanyard but it looks like SanDisk sells a version that does come with one for more money.

I use this as a music repository for my car stereo. It's great because I'm not worried it will stick out too far and I'll accidentally destroy the usb outlet on the head unit. Holds more music than I have, anyway, and has never had any kind of errors, despite it being plugged in all the time.

If you use a laptop, you don't want something big and bulky sticking out. Likewise, I needed something that I could leave in the USB port in my car without getting in the way. This does the job perfectly and has plenty of capacity. My car has several USB ports and shuns old technology like a CD player. So I needed to have a significant music collection in a small place. This did the job well. If you want to settle for MP3s, this might hold your entire collection if it's not well above typical size.

I don't need it to have super fast speed and it doesn't have super fast speed. Adding an album to it will be fast enough, it's more than fast enough to let me play music in real time, and I won't have a need to do concurrent reads or writes. But if you are looking for something with super speed, that's not what devices like this are designed for.

The cutest USB disk ever! I actually purchased this in a rush because I was in a dire need of a flashdrive. I saw the size of this thing and thought that it must be so great because it is so conveniently packed! It is, having a small flashdrive that can be kept inside of your laptop most of the time is great, but make sure that you attach something on the little lop it has because you may lose it often... I personally really recommend this to a person who CONSTANTLY need to use it. Attatching it to your keychain is a great idea. I usually keep it inside of the laptop too because it's just as small as my wireless mouse connector. I think this could work great for those car USB because you can insert it the car and close the lid of the place. I highly recommend this product.

I have a work laptop and after the IT guy complained about how big my profile backup was, I knew I needed a way to keep my personal files off of the HD of my work laptop. I take my laptop to work every morning and home every night so a thumbdrive stays in the line of fire during normal usage. I tried using a normal "stick" thumbdrive but eventually it got bumped and bent. I knew that I needed a low-profile flash drive ASAP. I spent a little more money on the SanDisk versus the cheaper low profile memory. When I got it I was impressed by the size, it was a smaller profile than either of the wireless mouse usb transmitters I use (one for work and one for home). After eight months of having it continually plugging into my laptop, I have been very pleased with how it works as memory and how it is not damaged by normal handling.

I want to start out by saying that nothing untoward was done by the seller. However, I purchased this USB drive so I could make a bootable copy of El Capitan using my MacBookPro... I tried for several hours and I have yet to be successful. I then tried to just use this drive as, added memory, that was futile also. The rate at which data can be put on or read from this device is just too slow. I am the one at fault as the product was described as USB 2.0. So, what could this product be used for? Excel files, word files, small files, small images, small anything, to put a 2 gig file on this device indicated copying time in hours.... OUCH!!! I have a USB 3.0 device on the way....
