I bought this memory card because my Wii no longer played game discs and needed to be sent in for a repair. While Nintendo promises to try and save all data during a repair, they noted that some information may get lost depending on the extent of the repair. Being an avid online game player, I did not want to risk losing any of the progress that I had made in any of my games, especially those that I play online (mainly Mario Kart, Black Ops, Modern Warfare, etc.), so I decided to purchase this memory card to back up all of my data before I sent it off to get repaired. I was very disappointed to find out that the data from any games with a Wi-Fi connection cannot be saved onto the memory card, for reasons I am entirely uncertain of. Therefore, I could not save any of my Mario Kart, Call of Duty, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, etc. data -- which is the entire reason I bought the thing! (But don't worry, guys. All of my Wii Play data has been backed up and secured...)
Ultimately, why this memory card may have worked great in every other way, I was incredibly disappointed to discover that it did not save all of the data I expected it to (the data I actually cared about).
(After doing some online research, it appears that Nintendo has done this to prevent the same online profile/ID number from being used on multiple systems. I'm not sure if this is completely accurate, just what I have seen on online forums and whatnot.)
