Another advantage is the size. The 16GB is 4 times as large as my old card and I can store several days of images on this one. It appears that downloading images over the USB2 connection from the camera is faster too.
It amazes me how something so simple as a new CF card can make an existing camera seem noticably better in action photography.
I know the "most helpful" review claims that this card can't keep up, but that has not been my experience whatsoever. If you need to shoot a burst for more than a few seconds, sure, you might need a faster card, but I can't think of many instances where more than a few seconds of burst are needed. If you truly need an extra 2 seconds worth of buffer, feel free to buy a card that's more than twice the price. If you need it, you need it. If you don't need it, save yourself a wad of cash and buy this card.
On the negative side they are small and can get lost if dropped into a pocket. So get card storage to hold them. That is pretty inexpensive as well. If you get a 6 card holder for them it would be equal to a 326 MG HD. You can get a 300 MG HD for pretty cheap, but I have had too many fail on me. So save yourself the heartache.
I've used compact flash memory, and specifically SanDisk, as boot media for embedded systems for more than a decade. All but a couple of SanDisk cards are 5 stars my application as they make the best flash memory. Some years ago, their 256MB cards wouldn't boot and were a zero. These work but the 30MB/second 4GB cards, and only the 4GB cards, report a different raw drive size then they actually have. The embedded systems work just fine except that the logs have A LOT more writes. For the first time, I've had cards fail because of excessive writes to partitions that aren't read only. This isn't true with the earlier 15MB/second 4GB cards, nor with smaller or larger cards at 30MB/second.
After over one year of use - Whats not to like? No problems, thats why you buy the best brands. SanDisk makes a good product, sure there are cheaper units, but why take a risk? For a few bucks more get the card you can depend on. Many of the photos we take are of "one time" events. Make sure you can keep "that shot", use a good memory card. Thanks Amazon!!
I've always used this brand of CF card...many times over the past 6 years...and have always been satisfied. Never had this problem before. Is it my camera or the CF card is the question.
