SanDisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 128GB Flash Drive High Performance up to 150MB/s (SDCZ73-128G-G46)
I am using this drive in the car for music only. Also brought another 128gb samsung at the same time. No problem with the samsung.
Just like other reviewer mentioned, this particular 128gb sandisk runs super hot. Worse of all. This card skips music randomly... I know because I swap this with the samsung between 2 cars, and it seem to happen only on this card, so it's not the car....
I have another SD card that is SanDisk which I used for camera only. Also starting to having issues with it....
Still, the price you pay for 128 GB of storage isn't bad, and the performance is still okay.
I got some diagnostic speed testing software and it confirmed what I already knew. It's slow.
Average read speeds were about 100 MB/s but the write speeds averaged 20 MB/s and below. That is very poor.
But this drive is inexpensive, has no annoying lights on it, and fits on a key chain.
So, I'm keeping it but I'm disappointed in SanDisk, a company I have bought many drives from in the past.
See the benchmarks below. Larger file transfer speeds are much better than smaller ones.

The metal design seems sturdy and should hopefully hold up to being thrown around with my keys. My only complaint would be that the drive is part metal (silver portion) and the key ring part is plastic (black/grey portion in picture). I was hoping it would be all metal but the plastic key ring seems sturdy and it should hold up over time. One other note is that the drive can get very warm when doing large transfers, it's to be expected for a small metal drive like this but it's worth mentioning.

How can they dare to sell this as a 150MB/sec drive?
I copied a 2000MB file to it, after a minute it slowed to 13MB/second. I have old USB 2 drives that are faster than that!
I used the standard Crystal Disk Mark benchmark and there you go:
Sequential read 40MB/sec and write only 12.66 MB/sec!
I returned mine. I expected more honesty from Sandisk.

Luckily I had some files back up but not all, although the data transfer rate is very quick - do not buy for risk of failure.
My other, older memory sticks by Lexar have not disappointed me, I will not buy SanDisk again. I have used my Lexar memory stick the same way I had used the SanDisk stick and I have had no troubles at all.
As returns/refunds are limited by 4 weeks I am left with a useless device

Seems to move files at around 30Mbps or so. Its slightly faster than some others that I have used.
However, this does get pretty hot. I think this might be magnified by the metal outer. I suppose it helps dissipate heat that is inherent in most USB 3.0 drives but because of the metal I went “ouch!!” When I first used it.
Hasn’t fried itself yet under heavy use so I guess its ok and an inherent design thing.

The flash drives are great.
I purchased 2 – one loaded with a portable operating system; Ubuntu Desktop and the second my Windows 10 installer.
The performance of Ubuntu running from the flash drive in a USB 3.0 port is great, even with USB 2.0 I can perform all the tasks I need perfectly fine.
Installing Windows 10 is a breeze, especially when built on an SSD drive the whole process is significantly faster.
Both are kept on my lanyard as they have decent size loop for attachment. They’re also a slim profile avoiding issues where there’s limited space on busy USB ports on desktops and hubs. The build quality is good, they come in different colours, they’re FAST, well priced and reliable.
I did have one concern though initially; the body is most part made from metal and when is heavy use they get extremely hot. That hot it’s difficult to handle and a bit of a shock if you forget the temperature and eject them from the machine by the metal surfaces. I have used the Ubuntu disk for extended sessions of 8 hours +; I’ve never noticed a decline in performance or any disfigurement of the drive itself. I have had drives that get hot before (not to this level) but they’re usually housed in a plastic shell. I can only assume that a. it’s a design flaw b. its an integral part of the design to disperse the heat generated.
I’ve been using these for a couple of months now, so it’s not something I worry about but just be aware that they get rather hot.
I’ve run some performance tests which you can view in the attached video, and they’re detailed below for both USB 3.0 & USB 2.0
Tests
- USB Deview, a small utility for managing USB devices with a feature to execute speed test for both read & write.
- Transferring a 546mb MP4 file from my SSD machine to the flash disk, then transferring the same file back to the desktop. I’ve recorded the time for these tasks to complete.
Here are the performance benchmark results
USB 3.0
USBDeview Speed Test
Test 1 – Read: 159.86 mbs Write: 27.30 mbs
Test 2 – Read: 159.86 mbs Write: 17.24 mbs
Test 3 – Read: 160.14 mbs Write: 20.14 mbs

I recently upgraded my PC with a 4port 5Gbps PCI Express expansion card. This was easy to install, it doesn’t require additional power and has provided me with a solid set of 4 additional USB 3.0 ports. I tested it to see if it would power some of my more power hungry devices which was flawless. This is impressive considering the PCI card did not require and additional power from the PSU. These ports were used during testing too.

After closer inspection of the packaging, it appears that someone put a 128GB sticker over the original of 4GB (see photo).
Buyer beware.

I can confirm three main things that others have mentioned:
1. It gets extremely, dangerously hot during normal use, if even remotely taxed (e.g. transferring files bigger than a couple of GB or transferring a bunch of smaller files in one go, which takes a long time)
2. This excessive heat causes it to perform extremely poorly (it is fast when cool but chugs something rotten when it heats up)
3. Possibly as a result of the excessive heat, mine has now completely failed after only a few weeks of usage.
I'm extremely annoyed that I've lost some data that I can't get back. (The transient nature of USB flash storage means that I hadn't yet backed the stuff up, because it was work in progress and I was on the move so didn't have a way to back up until I got home, by which point it was a goner). It's getting replaced, which is good, but apparently that requires me to send in the old product with my data on it which frankly isn't ideal (luckily I don't have anything overly personal or questionable on it but that's not really the point).
Not Good!
