About the Author
A British ex-pat who grew up an hour outside of London, Lisa attended Calvary Chapel Bible College where she met her husband. He's from California, but nobody's perfect. It wasn't until her Bible College graduation that she figured out she was a writer (someone told her). Since then she's taken the Apprentice and Journeyman writing courses with the Christian Writers Guild, and discovered a penchant for high-stakes stories of mayhem and disaster where you can find made-for-each-other love that always ends in happily ever after. Lisa can be found in Idaho wearing either flip-flops or cowgirl boots, depending on the season. She leads worship with her husband at their local church. Together they have two children--a sparkly Little Princess and a Mini Daddy--and there's only one bunny now (sad face).

I'm not going to rehash the storyline since you can read dozens of reviews that already do that. Instead, let me give you some other information on what you'll find within the pages. The Christian thread is moderate. You're not going to find numerous scripture references, theological discussions, or long winded sermons aimed more at the reader than as a natural part of the story. You will find honest prayer, church attendance, real Christians, fake Christians, non Christians, and seekers (just like the real world). Faith is displayed, not preached. You'll find characters that are so real you feel you know them. There's violence in there. If you're looking for a light and easy read keep looking. The editing does not meet the standard and quality of the writing (that's my only negative statement). It's not terrible but a good proofreader should have caught the word errors. The book is complete and works as a stand alone. It doesn't need a cliffhanger because the quality and concept sells the next book.
I have no doubt that this book will be read by me many times. This is my four hundredth review and I am so glad that I reached this milestone with this book. I highly recommend this book.
Since this is a special review for me I'd like to pass on a helpful hint. I am far from rich yet I have thousands of books. It's taken quite a while to build up my kindle library (I'm selective) and I'd like to share with you how I've done it on an extreme budget. First, the following websites will send you daily lists of free and reduced books. Bookbub, ebooksdaily, themidlist, bargainbooksy, faithfulreads, freebooksy, booksends, earlybirdbooks, ereadernewstoday, ebookdealsdaily, bookgorilla. Add a .com to those. Some are better than others at sticking to your genre selections. The deals are often only good for one day so if you find something you might like get it while the deal is hot. Several of the sites are put out by different publishers so you won't have many repeated offers. Another big saver for me is Kindle Unlimited (KU). It's about ten dollars a month and you can borrow from their list of thousands up to ten books at a time. There is no limit on how long you keep a book or how many you borrow so long as you only have ten or less at once. If a book isn't free but is offered on KU I will read it through that program. If a book is both on a quick discount and KU I borrow it first and quickly read enough to get a feel of the quality. I can usually tell from the first couple of chapters wether I want to go ahead and purchase it for my permanent library. Well, I hope that helps you. Happy reading.
I was visiting a FB blog that reviewed this book. It sounded so good that I went and downloaded the book. I couldn't put it down. As soon as I finished it I downloaded the second book Sanctuary Buried. I finished it last night. This morning I bought the three remaining books in the series. I started Sanctuary Breached this morning. Only stopped reading it long enough to leave reviews on the first two books. Each book caught my attention in the first couple of pages and didn't let go. The way Sanctuary Breached is going, its going to be another 5 stars. No one asked me to read nor review these books. When an author grabs my attention and keeps it all the way through not one but two books then they deserve a 5 star rating. Lisa Phillips just went to my "favorite authors' list". I definitely will be reading more by this fabulous author. I stayed up last night until I finished Sanctuary Buried. I highly recommend Lisa Phillips books. They are definitely page turners.
