From the Author
This story was originally published in 2005, and some of you may have read it then. I've since done a massive rewrite. The bones of the story are the same-they had to be, since SANCTUARY is based so much on a true story. But there's a lot of new content, the characters are more fully fleshed out, and I've written it in such a way that it is now connected to my novella BREAKING SKYE. They're both also set up for spin-off books, because I love these characters and the setting, and because the secondary characters are also based on real life people-how can I resist writing their stories?
SANCTUARY is also a means for me to get information out there about the truth-my truth, anyway-about BDSM practice. As someone who has spent much of my adult life involved in BDSM, it's important to me that it's portrayed from a realistic perspective. Well-a mix of what really happened with a dash of fantasy thrown in, because even authors need a little escapism sometimes...
