If you grew up in or visited the upper Midwest, you may be familiar with [[ASIN:B002U58PTQ Vernors Ginger]] and [[ASIN:B003XP6NW8 Faygo]] sodas, [[ASIN:B008A891MC Better Made Chips]] and Stroh’s Ice Cream (especially Vanilla Bean), and [[ASIN:B006ASSV1G Marshall's Mackinac Island Fudge]]. My favorite Motown confection was Sanders Syrup (especially Classic Caramel).

Thankfully, you don’t have to drive all the way to Detroit to get your hands on these treats since most are available on Amazon. These products were popular not only for their hometown manufacturing roots, but also for their homegrown flavor using premium ingredients in a slow-make style.

Sanders is a rich, thick syrup doesn’t lend itself to [[ASIN:B00X3G7GUK squirt-bottle dispensing]]; you have to scoop this up with a spoon (or finger). And the flavor is like old-time caramels you used to buy on the fairway at the State Fair – buttery, made with real cream and with hints of vanilla and butterscotch. I love putting a dollop in my morning coffee (see pic).

It’s a savory treat that’s well worth the price (which can vary).
