This is a biography of a ski resort.

And an aerial tram.

If so, you'll probably be interested in reading this book.

It's about a ski resort...and a tram...and...and.... All sorts of stuff happens within its pages.

The resort gets founded.

The resort changes its name.

Whee!

All right!

Is this a BOOK or a THRILL RIDE?!

The book does contain some excellent photos--of the first Sandia skier, of the insanely fearless men working on the tram's wires high above the world--but because it's written for and by the ski resort itself, it reads like a neutered promotional brochure, completely glazing over any drama that might make the tram sound unsafe or make the resort sound like a place that rarely gets any snow anymore, and it's really not very well written.

It does have its moments, but ultimately, it's a hard book to read.

If you're a historian or scholar of the Sandia Mountains, you'll probably want to read it, probably need to read it, as it is informative--but you'll probably wish you didn't have to.
