I should point out that this is a 2-4 player game. The product description on amazon states that this is a 3-12 player game, and that is just a flat-out mistake that needs correcting. Each player is assigned one of the four colors of the kitten cards, and there's just no room for others to play without some sort of future expansion. I don't know that adding more players would make the game any more fun, but maybe it will happen some day if profits demand it?
As stated in the product's description, the game CAN be completed in about 30 minutes if you are playing with four players. Play with fewer, and the length of game play will be shortened. Any way you play it, the game time is pretty fast, and can be set up to play very quickly, too, so there's almost always time for a round of this funny game. Fun for kids or adults, this inexpensive card game is a good addition to your family game collection!
That's it. That's all. No yuckiness. It's just a cute kitten game. Of course, the screaming starts when someone "blends" someone else's kittens, but there's no visual aid- just the knowledge that (if you can count to about four) if more than a certain number of your furrballs are in the "Blender" side of the game box, you've probably just lost, and all your strategy is for naught.
Still, it's a strangely fun game. Don't recommend playing it if your married friends are both competitive and argumentative, though- this game has caused about DEFCON 2 in the Lexicon of Marital Squabble at our place among married couples.
A fast-paced card game, the objective is very simple: You need to save as many of your kittens from being blended, at the same time trying to blend as many of your opponent's kittens. The mechanics are simple and easy to explain, with everything clearly printed on the cards. The artwork is very well done, with strong, vibrant colors and good visuals. Nothing gory or disgusting, which is good and would work against the game. You can play a game in about a half hour or so, giving plenty of opportunity to replay over the course of an evening. And with no small pieces to lose, it's easily portable and quick to set-up and clean-up.
The only downside is that this is strictly a 2-4 player game. Given how the kittens are identified (by color), you can't really add more decks to expand play to more than 4 players. So, if there were an expansion with different colored sets of kittens and some extra cards from the main game, that would work. But, really, how many people do you know who'd play a game with a title like this?
I like that the game doesn't take too long and is face paced. Only down side is sometimes at the end you can't do much with the cards you have and it can have an uneventful ending. We changed the rules (our house rules) so that you can only stop the Blends with the Blend Pulse Cards but Blend Pulses can never be stopped! This makes the game faster paced. Before we found it was too easy to save your kittens all the time. We're actually so hooked on blending adorable kittens we're looking for an expansion pack. I heard it exists, but haven't found it yet.

Despite the title, this is a fun game. The artwork is adorable. The kitten names are funny. It isn't solely about putting other people's kittens in the 'blender' (just one part... Read morePublished 5 months ago by Lorie S.
