  • Enter your model number to make sure this fits.
  • Pops open instantly into shape - no assembly required! Can be used on top of a cot, bunk bed or (air-)mattress; Length: 86 inches (usable length: 6 feet), Width: 39 inches, Height: 35 inches.
  • Tarp floor; 100% polyester mesh (~1200 holes per inch will also protect against bedbugs and no-see-ums); Fiberglass poles.
  • The tent is shipped tri-folded in a 26 inch disc (only about 1 inch thick), but it can be 4-folded to a 20 inch disc. It may also be shipped in a big box - don't be intimidated by the size of the box!
  • Weighs only 2.5 lbs! We recommend tri-folding it unless you really need to pack it smaller. Your suitcase will need to be at least 20 inches wide for the 4-folded net to fit. However, we recommend taking it as your personal item together with your carry-on.
  • PLEASE CAREFULLY WATCH THE DEMO VIDEOS ON THE SANSBUG WEBSITE BEFORE FOLDING IT - the poles will splinter if incorrectly folded!

Product Description

The SansBug tent has been used by soldiers in Afghanistan, missionaries in Africa, volunteers in Haiti, ecologists in Madagascar, boy scouts, mothers with babies, yogis wanting to meditate outdoors and pet owners to bond with their sugar gliders and birds. It can be taken as carry-on and will comfortably fit in the airplane overhead bin. Roomy, lightweight, portable and durable, the free-standing tent pops open in ONE second and folds down in less than five seconds! NOTE: 1. The elastic strap cannot restrain the 4-folded tent; you will need to use the cinch strap. 2. Many customers have taken the tri-folded 26 inch disc as carry-on; the thin circular disc is not your regular carry-on shape but it is very light. No one has been turned back yet at the gate.... but if you call the airlines asking if you can take a 26 inch disc, then of course you will be told that you can't.

LOVE! I took this to Haiti with me, and it was perfect. There are positives and negatives, but in my opinion, the negatives are negligible, and the positives are FAR worth it.

Negatives:
1) Won't fit in a carry-on, even quad-folded. I try to pack lightly on missions (i.e. no checked baggage), but it's either use this as one of your carry-ons (and then have to check a bag to carry belongings), or pack it in a bag too large to carry-on. Some of my team mates had these, too, and used it as one of their carry-ons, and nobody from the airline gave them any trouble at all.
2) No zipper pouch for personal items attached to the inside of the net.
3) Can't remove the green cover.
4) No rain tarp.
5) The zipper on mine sticks from time to time.

Positives:
1) VERY lightweight
2) Takes NO time to set up or take down.
3) Much more spacious than other individual mosquito nets
4) Much better air flow than other Individual mosquito nets
5) Much less expensive than other individual mosquito nets
6) Water-resistant bottom layer
There were bedbugs where we were staying. Other people were bitten through their nets (other brands). I wasn't. It probably has to do with my net being large enough for me to comfortably sleep without worrying about touching the sides, but I wasn't bitten through the bottom of my net either.
Very happy with this purchase

The item can be assembled and disassembled in seconds, and is nice and compact. The main drawback is you have to add in about 8 to 10 inches more of the length in order to fit comfortably. We needed to fit in a 6'8" person and the dimension specs appear to enough with some extra room. The length wise ends slope inwards and then up, so this takes away valuable room. The head and the toes touched each of the tent. The width is good and sufficient. We returned this item, and ended up buying one from REI locally for $90, which is twice the price of this. Summary: if you are 6 feet tall or under, this product would be good for you.

I purchased this tent to bond with my two sugar glider pets. I can sit up comfortably in it and easily watch tv through the screen. I can understand what the previous poster said about size. Since the ends slope down, you loose some of the 'usable' floor space. But that isn't impacting my use.
The bad- The zipper on my first tent lasted all of two uses and then started splitting. No matter what I did it just wouldn't completely close. I contacted Hakuna Matata, the seller.... WOW! What great service! They responded very promptly to my email and had a replacement tent labeled and shipped the very same day!
I've only used the new tent a few times, so far so good!

Super service! Thanks Hakuna Matata!

This is an ingenious contraption. It pops out of its bag into a screen tent without poles. I put down the seats in my powerboat and placed an air mattress over them. Then, I put this pop-up mosquito net over the air mattress. It works great!

This was used in Haiti by two of my sons and they said it worked beautifully. They were able to use it on the bunk bed too. Seems pretty simple to set up and put away. Very light weight.

Fantastic pop up tent. Purchased for a camping trip to give my ten month old a space to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about bugs. He absolutely loved it. My ten year old even enjoyed climbing in and playing or reading with his little brother. We did not sleep in it but it is plenty large for one or two people. Watch the YouTube videos on how to fold it before your trip. Great quality and worth the price. I'll be taking it to all outdoor gatherings from now on. The mosquitoes and roaches in the south won't "bug" me this summer and many to come.

Purchased this tent for an unusual purpose as I needed something in which my autistic toddler could nap. Needed something enclosed as he climbs out of the usual beds and cribs. This tent has been an ideal solution. It is easy to set up and take down (no assembly). It is well constructed. The netting is thick so that he can't poke his fingers through and tear holes in the material. Placed an air mattress inside it, which gives it weight so he can't move it around the room, and it has made a comfortable, cozy spot in which to nap.

I will touch on something nobody else has. The carry bag this thing comes with has 2 slings. This allows you to carry it like a backpack which is exactly what I did on my recent trip to Wallace Lake. I have a back pack that I use to keep my trail gear in. The Sansabug goes on top of my backpack. Yea, it looks awkward, but I don't care how it looks when I'm hiking. All I care is, it works.

This thing is huge and it is awkward on the trail. Especially if the trail itself is narrow and there are others as well. I'm scared to quad fold it because it puts a lot of stress on it and I want to get some uses out of it before I take a chance on breaking it.

This tent is particularly useful now because it's summer time. Mosquitos are everywhere here in the Seattle area which is terrible because it wasn't so bad years ago. I like to spend time in the outdoors but I can't do it if I'm getting feasted on.

I actually don't mind the mosquitos biting me while I'm outside. It's the scratching and suffering the night afterward that kills me. I still remember lying on my side, being uncomfortable because of the series of mosquito bites on the inside of my legs and feeling the burning sensation, making it difficult to sleep.
