The Santa Claus Singer opens with a down on his luck lounge singer who eventually swaps his Frank Sinatra suit with askew tie for a Santa Claus suit when he becomes a mall Santa.
Frank is a good singer, but he's not very ambitious. He's content playing little off-the-Strip clubs in Vegas, but even those jobs are few and far between and don't pay very well. When things go from bad to worse, he ends up doing a Santa gig at the mall. And he meets a girl who needs him...but finds that he also needs her to find himself.
A feel-good story that reminded me a little bit of Miracle on 34th Street, The Santa Claus Singer is a wonderful holiday tale, but you don't need to wait until Christmas to feel the spirit of the holiday, especially if you need a little pick me up in the middle of the dog days of summer. A fun, heartwarming and terrific read.
