    Product Description
Conveniently capture life's important moments. The new Sanyo Dual Camera CG20 records High Definition video (1080, 60i), and up to 14 megapixel digital photos with 5X optical zoom. All of these features are contained in a convenient, upright design. Recording videos, shooting photos and accessing settings in the menu can easily be controlled with the user's thumb. The CG20 easily fits in your coat pocket and makes sharing videos and photos via social networking web sites, portable video devices like IPod's, TV's and computers, easy.

    Style Design Made Simple
The Dual Camera CG20 packs cutting edge technology into a small, easy to use camera. Designed to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, the CG20 features an easy to navigate menu which make it a great choice for the beginner and the more advanced user. It is the perfect blend of style, performance, and ease of use.

    10 Megapixel Still Image Quality
In addition to Full HD 1080 Video the CG20 captures amazing 10 megapixel photos.

5x Optical Zoom (photos and video)
The CG20 features an optical zoom that magnifies photos and video images up to 5x their normal size.

Large, 2.7 -inch Liquid Crystal Display (LCD)
The display flips out from the camera and rotates up to 285 degrees on an axis that allows you to take great video or still images from otherwise-difficult-to-view positions, proving to be especially useful when shooting in confined spaces.

    High Speed Sequential Photo Mode
This camera features a sequential "photo" shooting mode. When the user selects this mode the camera will take multiple photos in sequential order; providing multiple photos frames. The perfect solution for action photography!

    Video and Photo Image Stabilizer
The CG20 features a new photo stabilizer. This technology actually takes two photos at the same time; one at a faster shutter speed and one at a slower shutter speed. The camera combines the benefits of both of the shutter speeds, resulting in an image that has less blur and less noise.

Using a proprietary Sanyo algorithm, the CG20 automatically compensates for distracting up-and-down or side-to-side camera movement, keeping your video and photo subjects steady and easy to follow. It accurately distinguishes between unintentional camera shake and deliberate camera movement. This handy feature operates in both wide-angle and telephoto modes.

    Video and Photo Face Detection
The CG20 utilizes specialized video and photo face detection technology. This feature recognizes multiple subjects' faces and optimizes focus / aperture settings to ensure each individual is in focus.

    Eye Fi Compatibility
The CG20 features enhanced Eye-Fi compatibility. This Dual Camera will automatically recognize the Eye-Fi wireless SD card when it is inserted. The CG20 also has "smart power" on board which allows the cameras to control the Eye-Fi function and provide power management, automatically shutting the card off when not in use.

    Windows 7 Compatible
The CG20 is fully supported by the latest Windows OS, "Windows 7", further expanding its capabilities. The video files are displayed in the same thumbnail format as still picture files. They can also be played back directly with Windows Media Player, are editable with Windows Live Movie Maker, and are Device Stage compatible. This makes the files even more convenient for use on computers.

Easily Follow Moving Objects with Object Chaser Technology
The CG20 is capable of "object chasing"; a feature which allows you to maintain proper lighting and focus on objects in motion. This is a great way to capture video of family members and pets on the move!

Easy Playback of Recorded Video Directly on a TV
The CG20 camera features a mini-HDMI output which makes connecting it to a Digital TV or DVD Recorder a breeze. The CG20 can also easily be connected to a computer to back-up copies of recorded content via the handy USB 2.0 connection. Still images and video clips are played back continuously and in chronological order. When connected to a PC, simple drag-and-drop operation makes it easy to save recorded video clips and still images onto a computer's hard disk for emailing, editing or archiving.

    Includes a High-Capacity Sanyo Brand Lithium-ion Battery
The DB-L80 is a high capacity battery designed to work with the Sanyo Dual Camera CG20 camera and delivers approximately 70 minutes of video record time. High-energy density design minimizes the battery size and weight, making it perfect for use in the CG20. It designed to resist memory accumulation so it provides a full charge every time.

SDXC Memory Compatibility (over 64GB SD Cards)
While the CG20 works with standard SD memory, and more high capacity SDHC memory cards, it is also fully compatible with the next generation SDXC memory cards. The CG20 can record to more than 64GB of content to SDXC memory cards. This dramatically improves your ability to record and transfer hours and hours of Full HD 1080 videos to a computer. You can also play CG20 Full HD 1080 videos stored on SDXC cards on your high definition TV.

Highly Advanced MPEG4 AVC/H.264 Video Compression
This feature optimizes the file size and makes sharing movies on social networking sites, or emailing them to friends and family, even easier. In fact, the file size can be up to 25 percent smaller than that of typical MPEG-4 cameras.

Capture Still Images While You're Shooting Video
The CG20 enables simultaneous shooting of video clips and still images with a simple press of the shutter button during the shooting of a movie clip. You will never need to miss another precious photo opportunity. (Depending on the mode used to take still images, simultaneous video clip shooting may be interrupted. While shooting video clips, using the digital image stabilizer may change the angle of view for still images.)

    Super-fast Start-up
Reduce your chance of missing the perfect shot. The Dual Camera CG20 is designed for super fast start-up and shooting. With its tapeless design, the CG20 eliminates the need to queue up a video tape, allowing it to begin shooting in as little as 1.7 seconds. When the CG20 is powered on, closing the LCD display puts it in standby mode. Simply open the display and the CG20 automatically powers up and can begin immediately recording in as little as 1.7 seconds.

    Slight Improvement Over the CG-10

    Slight Improvement Over the CG-10
Between August of '09 and June of '10, I came to depend on the CG-10 as my 2nd camera for stills and #1 cam for video. It's was with me all the time and held up quite well. It will be viable 'til it frys...which may be quite a while because it's been on the shelf since I got the CG-20 for my birthday. My first job for the CG-20's 1080 mode was the local fireworks show. I set the WB to "fireworks" and let it run. Here's what I learned.. Other than the improved resolution, there are a couple of other changes that are good and bad. The good> It's a bit smaller, the SD card is easier to get to, some basic in camera video editing, saturation is better and the noise reduction seems only slightly milder for stills. There is a 16:9 11 megapixel mode for stills. It uses the same battery and USB for download. The bad> You'll have to buy a mini/standard HDMI to play this on your TV. If, like me you bought the special component (RGB) cord for the CG-10, you're S.O.L. Like wise if you don't have any HDMI stuff or a spare input yet. My 2 video programs (Corel Video Studio X2 and Roxio 2010) will not handle 60 FPS and X2 won't handle 1080. But even at 30 FPS the 1080 looks fine as long as you and your subject move slowly. Passing birds and trains seem to leave a trail. Search Flickr for the best examples of the CG-20 Anyway, as good and a little better as the CG 10...

I purchased this unit because it was small and recorded HD for a killer price. I would say good overall value for the price however the cheapest memory card is at least $200.00, so keep this in consideration with the price.

Battery life is pretty bad, but video quality is very good even in low light.

The CG20 Not perfect but really nice for the price. All kinds on manual features and settings. Even has a manual white balance. Real optical zoom not a fixed focus pin hole like the flip. I'm giving it 5 stars because all the competition are 4 star rated and no where near the camera the Sanyo is.

A few things I really like
      1. The flip out LCD is really useful, since non of these pocket cams have optical stabilization, holding them steady is a chore. With the swivel LCD you can steady the camera against your waist, or anything for that matter and still see what you're shooting.
2.This thing is light weight and small. I use it with a suction cup mount as a dashcam and it stays real steady. I do hang it upside down, behind the mirror. I flip the vid with my editing software if there is something I want to keep. I think you can flip the video with the on-board video editing software also.
      3. The sound is good, it picks up everything. I guess the trade off is there seems to be a slight hiss in a quiet room.
      4. Video is excellent - I always use the 720p 60fps setting because I want smooth slowmo but the 1080 is great if there is not allot of fast action.
      5. You can leave it on all day with the LCD closed and battery is not depleted much, start up time are pretty fast also. If you close the LCD the recording stops but you can flip it around and close it and it stays on. This seems like it would work well suction cupped to the tank of a motorcycle or outside a car.
      6. Great Macro
      What I don't like
      1. Lens cap is the worst, such a pain to snap on and off. Cheap and always awkward
      2. Can't sit it up on it's own, hast to be on a tripod or Gorilla Pod
      3. No Audio adjustments except wind filter, kind works but not great.
      4. zoom works well but not smooth. Does seem to start off slower and pick up speed fast.
      5. A wider lens would be nice

update Battery life Dec 14th -- The included battery was only 50 minutes so I purchased two 1000 mah batteries on Amazon for $9. they each only lasted 30 to 35 minutes. I tried a single Japan made battery that was about $18 with shipping that claims 40% longer life . link - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0042LNZZU/ref=oss_product On first use I got 55 minutes, not 40% more as promised. I will do some more testing before reviewing it. update Dec 18th - yes 55 minutes for the Wasabi Power Battery but since I appear to have charger problems I will hold off reviewing this battery until my new camera comes.

Update 2 Camera Return Dec 18th - My camera battery sometimes would go through the full charge cycle then only last 10 or less minutes, At first I thought it was my error. Even though I have another Xacti camera(VPC-FH1A) and never had this happen. I suspect the problem is with the charger because if the camera was draining power so quick I think it would get very hot. This problem occurs intermittently to all my batteries including the Sanyo included battery. I should have a replacement next week.

I read a lot of these other reviews and even watched videos on youtube from the camcorder; but I still was very shocked by how low I felt the picture quality was. The compression artifacts that I had seen on youtube where also present on the video directly from the camcorder. I guess i expected it to be clearer at home. It looked like stretched camcorder footage with none of the hd details I was expecting, especially after watching some of the other videos I saw. I tried various settings but never got something that I thought looked similar to their recordings. The video looks very flat and murky to me.

Some of the other xacti's allow you to manually adjust the exposure using the menu systems exposure tab, however this one does not. NO MANUAL SETTINGS! There are various scene modes and iso changing, but it lacks the manual shutter and aperture settings that I had expected based on reviews of other xacti cameras (like the cg10); I even watched a video on vimeo about changing the settings on xacti's but this camera is missing the option. No settings (other than zoom) where changeable once the video started recording (although the camera did do its own adjustments) I had a standard definition Panasonic that allowed me to fiddle with the exposure and settings during filming. Manual stuff, may not be important to you but it was a selling point for me.
The auto/manual focus not really what you'd expect either. You can manually adjust from 1cm out to 50cm; after that you have to stop recording and put the camera back into auto-focus from the settings menu. Kind of a pain even if you assign the focus button as a shortcut. It does do really good macro though. You can put this thing right up against something and it focuses.

I didn't fully read the return policy of the seller (there isn't one) when I bought this (it said fulfillment by amazon but it wasn't really amazon) so I'm kinda stuck with this camera and unhappy. That makes me sound kinda dumb, but I mention it because if you're buying a 100 dollar hd camcorder its probably because you're short on cash and you think "hey! this'll do." This probably won't. I'd save up a little longer dude.
