Just bought this. Built a whole new computer using Ryzen 5 2600 + DDR4 3000 Ram and this video card. At 1st I began to have issue's with the screen. Black screen and at one time while testing a game (Skyrim of all things) there was a horrid screeching sound coming from headphones and screen just froze and crashed. At 1st I thought it had to be the card. But then suddenly the hdmi port would not send a signal (or at least I thought as there was no signal coming through) so I attached another HDMI cord and it worked fine. So thinking now it was the HDMI cord. But then why the horrid sound and system freeze? So I took everything apart and re-installed all component's thinking that perhaps something was not connected right. Discovered that the heat sink paste they put on the Ryzen cooler was a sloppy mess. So cleaned that up and now it all seems to be working well......except that last night while playing a game, a very quick, strange, green screen appeared. almost instant. then back to the game. I have been watching my temps and all is normal. At this point I have no clue what's causing this new glitch. I'm starting to think that the card is faulty and I also made a mistake in installing the other components (which was fixed I guess, as the only thing that looked out of normal was the paste on the cpu cooler which was probably what caused that horrid noise and system freeze as it was overheating). Oh and another thing. AMD drivers SUCK! I've had to clean uninstall and reinstall 3 different drivers just to get this thing to be stable. Their 2019 Adrenalin drivers are horrid. AMD seems, to everything I've read, have an idiotic driver process. Releasing drivers before they are fully tested.
And holy $%%^&^ if your planning on redeeming the games that come with this....A complete nightmare! Had to jump through 4 different hoops just to get somebody to respond to me who took all the info (+ a little blood) then proceeded to give me a link to redeem. hit link and it sends me to customer support and tells me I need to contact them and give them all the info I just gave them. FINALLY I get an email with an excuse and stating that all is well and games are ready to redeem. Soooo go to my account only to find out that in order to play each game I would need to install Uplay and Epic game launchers! UGH! No way at all am I installing those crapwear. So no games for me :( . I'm about ready to return this card and NEVER buy AMD products again. Should have just gone with easy and sane Nvidea.
Wanted to complete my all-AMD build with a RX video card and the Sapphire is the best bang for the buck. It pairs well with my Ryzen 3 2200G CPU.
Don't make the same mistake I made of installing the AMD Adrenaline drivers while. your computer is going through a Windows update. It gave me a bad image message, but, once I rolled back the driver via Windows, all is well.
Update: after a few days it started screen tearing just watching movies or videos and I got random black screen and freezes. Sending it back. Tried changing drivers. Didn’t work. Reinstalled my old hd 7870 and it worked fine. No tears or black screens or freezes.
Update: Realized it’s a known issue with the AMD realize drivers. If you turn off freesync you won’t have screen tears watching videos.
