I will try my best to give some kind of synopsis. There are a couple of kingdoms who are at war with each other and come to find out that these certain characters are called runics they look human and act human but they have certain abilities that have to do with either fire, water, earth, or air. Everyone from the military to bad guys are trying to hunt down these people, because they want to control them and use them as weapons.
Jeff does a wonderful job with the character development and the story just flowed nicely. In this book you will get a chance to see more of what happens to the main characters Era and Jem from the first book. And there are a lot of surprises in store as well. This story has a lot of twists and turns but it is truly exciting.
I want to thank Jeff Kish for inviting me on this wonderful journey. I received a free copy in exchange for my review. Jeff thanks for sharing your talent and heart and soul~ Your Faithful Reader
The characters get to travel through more of the world than in the previous book, which adds a richness to the setting. I found myself more interested in some of the characters than I had been, due to their own ambitions and fears beginning to play a role in their actions. At the same time, I feel like some characters remained a little static, and I'm hoping book three will give them the drive they need to continue to grow.
The ending of the book definitely leaves me wanting more, and I anticipate the continuation of the series!
