initially I got an RX550 and was shocked at it's poor performance per price. despite it being quite and small in size so I returned it and few days later I stumbble upon this gorgeous looking card by chance which was 27$ more.
RX550 heaven benchmark 4.0 score is 425.
RX460 heaven benchmark 4.0 score is 600
so you can see the performance difference. thats like 10-12 frames more.
I had a choice between 1050 and this but I went with the RX460 since I wanted to switch red a bit and there wasn't any real world difference between the 2 in terms of performance. in fact the similar priced 1050 was had only 2GB of ram. so it was a no no for me.
the card temps are on idle 40% fan speed, room temp 27c GPU temp 45c
if you run a custom profile where you have the fan stay off until say 65c then the GPU temp will stay 60c idle.
load temps are 70c when the fan runs at about 55% room temp 27c and on full load. that. thats pretty good to be honest for a budget GPU
the automatic settings has the tendency to choose silence over coolness so don't be shocked if you see your card going 76c since the fans usually stay at 40-50% and don't really go higher than that unless the gpu temp hit 78c. thats by design but when you run your own custom fan curve in in sapphire trixx or MSI afterburner its way better.
as for gaming I'm really surprised at the performance. benchmarks aside this card tend to give 60fps 1080p in most titles without reducing alot of settings.
fractured space 45- 60fps all maxed out except post processing and advanced effects
Max payne 3 50 -60fps all maxed out except anti aliasing.
Tomb raider 2013 40 -60fps all maxed out except anti aliasing.
Dirt 3 all maxed out 60fps
the 1st 3 games are demanding so I was surprised I was able to max them out with this card. astonishing.
the card has a cool LED effect and it be honest it's a looker, sleek and nice looking in a window case. so far I love it. please check out the pics I have posted :) for any questions hit the comments.
