I first heard her 1st single Fire on a sampler and loved it. Later on I saw her CD for a exteamly cheap price and since all reviews I've read by her where exellent I wasted no time to get it. It was well worth the next to nothing I paid. It was a great CD and I think all the tracks are great. If I had choose a best it might be Fire or Commodity. I recomend this CD for any one who is a fan of Rebecca St James or Barlowgirl

I picked up this CD after hearing one of her songs that I liked on satellite radio (I don't recall which song it was). Every once in a while I like to take a chance on a CD like that. Well this was a chance worth taking. It's not a masterpiece, but every song is solid and Turn, Pardon Me and No More, in particular, are excellent. Comparisons to Adrienne Camp and Leigh Nash are valid, though she sounds nothing like the distinctive Nash. She sounds a bit more like the lead singer from Plumb, but stylistically is more like Nash or Camp (when she was with Benjamin Gate). The other amazing thing about this CD is that Sarah is German and English is her second language -- you can hardly tell though. Well worth picking up ... and tell your friends so we can get her over here for some concerts.

I've been waiting for a female vocalist to fill the void left by Adrienne Liesching (now Adrienne Camp)of the Benjamin Gate and Leigh Nash of Six Pence. Most of the women on the contemporary Christian music scene sound like they are cast from the same boring pop mold. If you like that that thing, great. Sarah Brendel has stepped up with a gutsy, moving sound that actually makes you believe that what she is singing comes from the depths of who she is. A faith that is imperfect, seeking, passionate, yet fully enveloped in the security of God's Grace, really the very essence of what it means to be a Christian. Sarah's vocals can be soothing yet edgy, the lyrics are childlike in their beauty, yet deep and haunting. For my own tastes, I would have given this CD five stars, if it were just a bit more alternative or rocky, but still it is well worth the purchase and I look forward to her next work.

The pictures of Sarah Brendel make me think of her as a precocious, rebellious teenager. I will admit that this may draw some people, but in my case, at 47 as I write this, I'm old enough to be the father pulling out my hair if I had a daughter like that. (FYI, I don't have any children, though I wish I did have a daughter or a son.)
Maybe she would be a handful if she was my daughter, but as a Christian singer, she was a pleasant surprise. I loved the sound of the music, and the words were well thought out.
I can put the songs into three categories: Those I liked a whole lot, those I loved, and those I thought were just okay. Eight of the ten songs made the first two groups, with only "King I Love" and "Confused" being in the third group. The ones I loved were "Fire", "Turn", "Pardon Me", "Babel Towers", and "No More".
Needless to say, I enjoyed this project.

Sincerity and purity are the trademarks of SB music. Rien ne se compare a sa facon d'ecrire ses chansons et encore moins de les interpreter. Sarah est un exemple d'integrite artistique que l'industrie musicale chretienne devrait suivre maintenant. A MUST HAVE to each and every music lovers.

I absolutely love this cd. When I first heard it, it reminded me of the lead singer from Benjamin Gate, and Sarah's voice is also reminiscent of the Cranberries, both of whom I love.
This is great cd. I know that Sarah Brendel is sincere in her message, you can hear it in her music, but also she is from Germany where a Christian message is not popular. It's great to hear her speaking out and being bold.

Nice easy listening. Sarah, has a nice voice that doesn't get old. There is variety on the album and she is one of my favorite contemporary female Christian vocalists.
