Sarge is the short story of a burgeoning D/s relationship between two space marines stationed on an alien planet where an endless war drags on.
Sergeant Wilkes is a hard man with a long, celebrated military career.
Brawny, tattooed, and utterly submissive, Murphy is just an interesting diversion… until Sarge realises he has found something truly rare.

I found this book in an odd way. I stumbled across the first chapter of this book on Wattpad. I thought it was a short short and I left a comment asking for more, before checking out the author's page.
That lead me their website, which lead me to Amazon.
When I left my comment on Wattpad, it had a short list of things I wish he would expand on if he bothered to continue this story. I didn't get my whole list, but being surprised with what I did get makes me happy I found and bought this book.
I'm not one for doms and subs, so I was a bit surprised when that is how the story continued, but the fact that it didn't stay there is one of the reasons why I like it.
I don't like giving anything away, so I can't say much more other that it's moving, has a surprising splash of color and you will cry near the end, if not get misty and worried.
There are a number of personal reasons why it didn't get that last star, but by no means are they reasons for not reading this book. And at the current price of under $3 there is nothing stopping you from discovering these characters, this story, or this author.
This book,... wow! I usually don't bother with short stories, I believe that they just are too short for me to have any kind of important connection with them. The author totally just proved me wrong. I can't recall a time where less than 50 pages were capable of packing the kind of punch he landed on me. I couldn't be happier. I hope, desperately, that we'll hear more about the characters in the future.
Every syllable, every word, every sentence feels like the utmost care was taken. It's so exact. All the excess is trimmed and all you're left with as a hell of a story with an intense emotional wallop. I actually got choked up and a couple spots.
I can't express how much this short story meant to me.
As with my other reviews, I’m going to say right off the bat that this isn’t a review – I can’t write them, I don’t know how, and I not even going to attempt to. Why tarnish a completely awesome story with my feeble attempt at review writing?
However, what I will say is I want to know Murphy better – like up close and personal! *wink* He’s a beautifully written character, in a beautifully written story.
I sincerely can’t wait for the next installment. One-click it now folks. Read it, fall in love with it, and anxiously await its continuation.
Peace,
JLT =)

But seriously, I don't regret buying it. It's undeniably sweet, as in : There were sex scenes? Sorry, I didn't notice. Was too busy wiping my kindle to make sure these tears don't short circuit anything
as I was reading through everything else.
I loved the fact that we could feel what the characters were going through and their emotions, hopes, desires, simply by the writing of their experiences, not by delving into their thoughts.
I look forward to reading more from this author, perhaps a novel instead of a short story.
Spiteing only myself I will miss bonus story, but have found another writer to love.
I also recommend Max.
Must read.
