By saying that, I was really surprised and happy when I found out that the U.S. Delta Heavy Tour in 2002 was filmed and would be released on DVD. I wasn't at the NYC show @ The World but i sure remember this tour. I remember listening to the Radio 1 Essential mix recorded live in Miami which was the kick off of their tour.
I won't say too much of the content as it is the best to be releaved by the viewer, but i'll say that it was really interesting to see Sasha & John'
s personality as most of the time we see them, they are behind the decks in a darkened room playing music to thousands of ppl leaving them wanting more. The DVD concentrates on the various cities they goto, behind the scene info, the crew and really represents Electronic Music and DJs' presence in America.
To my knowledge, Delta Heavy was the first time where "DJs" toured the country with full blown concert-like production with 2 full size tour buses and crew. As a DJ and Electronic music enthusiast, I feel proud of that fact as say, 10 years ago that concept wouldnt be relevant, let alone be succesful.
To sum things up, for the S&D fans, its a must have to add to your collection and to those just getting into dance music, or any open minded ppl looking for something new, its a great dvd that will give you an idea of the DJ culture and it's progression in the US.
Includes Tour Documentary, Delta Heavy Visuals, Sasha & John Digweed Full Interviews Uncut. Audio/Visual Mix features 14 songs.
i highly recommend it to other fans of S&D because its truly dope and i recommend it to people who are just curious about one of the, if not THE biggest electronic dance music tours ever and how it was done!!!
If you are purchasing Delta Heavy to watch some bloke spinning records, skip this DVD. If you are looking for a movie chronicling Sasha and Digweed on tour with dialog, show footage, visuals and great music, get this!!!

I'm a DJ myself and feel privelleged to know people that have gigged with Sasha at Shelleys etc in the early 90's, and this DVD pretty much sum's up the quite mysterious, unknown personality that surrounds the two DJ's, which was fantastic on my first viewing as I used to see them as idols. Alex is very much the front man who speaks on behalf of the duo; his slightly quiet appearance however exsists only as a barrier to people he doesn't know, which is typical of quiet people like myself. As you soon see however, he's actually a genuinely nice fella who just wants to get "ratted" on any occasion possible!
Digweed is perhaps my favourite though. He appears quiet, quite content, and has a genuine passion for his music, as well as having the odd laugh with Alex. He is also patient and is quite the role model to any young DJ out there, for he connects with anyone involved with the tour, and guests alike, as if they're already great friends.
The film itself is an hour long, and the structure basically forms the tour from the initial heading off in the marvellous tour bus (I think we could all do with one of these babies!) to the setting up at venues, playing on a yacht, seeing their hotel bedrooms, and lots, lots, more, which is fantastic for an hour long film. My favourite event is indeed the yacht evening, in which Alex and Diggers play a collection of gorgeous down-tempo numbers, some of which were 'new' as on Sasha's new album of the time. The way it is captured on camera is very emotional, and the scenes of the harbour/sea are gorgeous - jealousy will creep in, I guarantee it!
As I said, there are some funny instances; one being at the start were the duo arrive at their first stadia-venue, and the receptionist calls Diggers "John Pigweed" believing thats his name! Alex also reveals his orange jump-suit moments at The Hacienda, while Diggers has a rare opportunity to crowd surf, much to the annoyance of the security personnel...
A tracklisting is also on the back of the DVD case, and extra features on the disc just include an interview, etc...
Important bit: This is a REGION 1 DVD - An American release, meaning that it will ONLY play on a UK DVD player if it is UNLOCKED or "Region Free"... Hopefully you should all be aware of this by now with DVD's. Also because of this, you my find the DVD is 'slightly' lower in frame rate than UK DVD's. This is perfectly normal, and only happens because the US record differently to how we do. If you don't understand, just watch any US soap like 'Friends' or 'Frasier' to get what I mean...
Overall, I think this should be in every collection of young DJ's looking up to role models, or whom want an insight into a fairly uncharted territory of electronic music. Diggers particularly is an excellent role model, but the quality of the DVD and the rare fact that yes, this is evidence of the 2 talking and laughing on DVD (which is hard to find) is un-replaceable, since they're are both quiet when it comes to the Media. An absolute bargain for my six quid, with P&P!
