5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoes for a great price
By Voodoman on November 12, 2016
Great shoes for a great price, if you are a serious runner. Saucony always meets my expectations. This is my third pair in a couple of years. Well, that doesn't mean the shoes do not last long; it is just that I cover around 2000-to-2500 miles an year on average. The first pair didn't last as long as the others since I tore a hole in the upper mesh when I slipped and hit a rock. It is not a problem with the shoes. Though I've tried other brands just for the sake of variety, I always come around to Saucony Cohesion. Granted there are premium brands that better caters to runners, but then you will have to pay premium price for them too.

Coming back to the review - I don't know the difference between Cohesion 8 and Cohesion 9; both feels great. I always buy half a size bigger as I wear thick socks during my runs to sock up the sweat. Sometime I put a custom insole, if it feels like the shoe is losing its cushioning. And as always, the shoe felt true to its size. The arch support is good enough for me. If you got any foot condition, then you might need a custom insole. The soles just got the right cushioning for a good run - not too soft, and not too hard. The laces are long enough to loop through the topmost holes, without having to pull hard to tie the knot. This is important to me as I prefer my shoe snug to the feet when I am running. The upper mesh is breathable. But that means if it is cold out, you will feel it too (I live in MN and it gets cold in here). The shoes fares good in both hard surfaces and trails, though I run a primarily on hard asphalt. This is my go-to shoe for my 15+ miles runs.

Hope you have a great run too...

Update (03/27/2017) - Attaching a couple of pics for credibility. First pic is my older Cohesion shoes after 1200+ miles and I still use it. Second image shows my yearly miles.

Update (04/15/2017) - Finally retired the shoe with around 1400 miles, and that too pretty hard 1400 miles. The glue holding the upper mesh with the sole was coming apart, making an annoying flapping sound when running. I know, it is really too long for a running shoe. I moved on to Cohesion 10. Even I don't recommend putting that much mileage on a pair. I had grown used to the old shoe and nearly forgot how hard the heel had become. The shoe was worth every single penny. Thanks Saucony...
