This show is strange because it doesn't really fit into a running category. It's not a marathon, daily trainer, flat, or racer. It IS a good shoe for everything, but it is not a great shoe for any one purpose. I found this shoe was near perfect at about a 6:30 - 7:00 minute mile pace. It is a little too cushy to use for under 6 minute miles, and it doesn't feel right at slower paces. I believe this is because of the everun foam which seems like heaven at the right cadence (not crazy fast, but not slow). This shoe is great for 10k to half marathon pacing. I would not prefer this shoe for marathon or 5k races.
I am giving the shoe 5 stars because the above description is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a reliable shoe with ungodly long tread longevity (500-600 miles), and proper cushioning for my 10 miler on the weekends. I have several totally different shoes that I rotate depending on the workout. The Saucony Freedom ISO 2 is definitely going in the rotation. I highly recommend this shoe, especially for your long tempo run on the weekends.
