The GTX will keep your feet dry, but grip could have been improved vs. normal Kinvara on wet roads. Performance on muddy stretches is not good.
If Saucony were to release a pair in between the GTX and Peregrine, I would probably go for those instead.
Durability: I've now logged almost 400 miles in mine - admittedly that is longer than I normally run in a pair of shoes, but the low-drop of these seems to be getting more wear from them. The cloth along both big toes is starting to frey some, and that started about 200 miles into this pair - so as some have pointed out, there might be a little bit of an issue. At the same time, I've also worn mine for at least another 20 bike sessions of 60-90 minutes indoors which has left them soaked in sweat. IMO the miles and the soaking I've given these proves they're a durable shoe.
Weight: these are a very light shoe, but provide enough support for long runs (over 10miles).
Fit: they fit fine, I have a normal gait, but a little bit of outward turn in my right leg due to breaking in years ago. in every other pair of running shoes I've ever owned that meant my left big toe would eventually get a big calous build up. However, these Kinvara's have resulted in a calous building on my right big-toe, and sometimes a deep tissue blister following long hill runs (8or more miles).
Overall, I'm satisfied with the durability, weight and fit after several months of owning them.
I've been a goretex user for over 25 years and have yet to be disappointed. Haven't had the need of the goretex yet. Noticed that the goretex is a bit stiffer and noisier but it's not a deterrent.
The one piece of advice I would give is to not tie these too tightly. When tied tightly, they pinch across the tops of the feet, and it'll hurt the next day.
I'll definitely be getting another pair next winter.
