I have been a devout Hurricane runner for years, but recently have been disappointed with v11/v12. I found both versions of the shoe to be heavier than their predecessors and actually take awhile to break-in (especially around the big toe). However, immediatley upon putting on my new 13's, the shoe fit better and was noticebly lighter. My first run with the shoe also was flawless, with no "break-in" pains or "softening" required. I am VERY happy with the new 13's and hope they do not tinker too much with this formula going forward.

I have somewhat chronic PF and haven't been able to run as much as I like in recent months. However, these shoes seem to have enough support in the right places that I'm able to start training again. I'm a neutral, high arch foot and run sub 8 minute miles in training. Glad I found a shoe that seems to minimize the inflamation I've been getting with other shoes as a result of having PF.

This is the ONLY shoe that gives my husband many, many miles of safe running. He returns to purchase this model time and again for it's dependability and long wear. Being able to purchase on Amazon (using Prime) is simple and easy. Thanks again for making this purchase as user-friendly as can be for an on-line purchase!

This is my fourth pair of Sauconys, as they were recommended by my doctor. I had my first pair until recently. They had been demoted to lawn mowing shoes, as the cushioning was gone (as will happen to any running shoe, with the pounding that they take.) I eventually threw them out as they became, well, disgusting, but to the end, the heel cup was as firm as the day of purchase. I have noticed that in each successive pair that I've owned, the heel cups lose their shape more quickly. Even better (he says with some sarcasm) I have only worn my curent pair 15-20 times, and I can see my sock through the toe of the right shoe. A little quicker (a lot quicker) than my previous pairs. I have contacted customer service, but the store at which I purchased them has given my little hope.."tha usually happens within three months"..at this price...really?

As I said, my fourth pair, and sadly, probably my last....comfort that doesn't hold up.

I'm a Saucony Hurricane fan. 200 pounds, over 40 yrs old, 6'2" tall. Half marathon runner. This Hurricane model was very stiff and painful on my calves. Hurricane 12 was good, Hurricane 14 and 15 great shoes again.

Everyone's feet are different, of course, but the model 13 from Saucony has a number of plusses. There's enough room for orthotics, and the base is stiff both from heel to toe and also side to side--better stability than the 12 or 14.
This model has the archlock, which may not be for everyone but also adds to stability. The achilles tendon protector is firmer than in other models, and as other reviewers have noted, the heel is a bit higher of the ground.
Sadly, the 14 does not have many of these features, so get the 13 while you still can.

The Hurricane 13 is far more comfortable than the Hurricane 14. I know, the upgrade should be a new and improved model. I feel the arch-support on the 13s exceeds the 14s, and I especially like the 'Arch-Lock' on the Hurricane 13. I prefer the 11mm heal-to-toe drop on the 13s, as well. I have tried several brands of shoes over the last 4-5 years and put at least 400 miles on each pair, and the Hurricane 13 maintained the best cushioning through the end. I had difficulty finding more 13s, as the inventory is depleted...but I'm glad I found these. I hope this helps!
