I am 6' tall and 170 lbs. I wear size 12.5. Before using these I replaced the insole with Superfeet Orange insoles and Yankz elastic shoe laces. I suffer from chronic plantar fasciitis and the Superfeet really seems to help (I've got them in ALL my shoes, dress shoes too). I started using Yankz when I was doing multisports and I find they ease some of the discomfort when your feet get hot and swell during longer runs.
I like these new Saucony's. They are comfortable for longer trail workouts (2+ hours). They are slightly more cushy than the Xodus 6.0. The tread seems to have similar grip as the Vibram sole on the 6.0 and it works well on the dry trails I enjoy which include rocks, sand and lots of steep up/down.
Complaints: My first complaint is that unlike the Xodus 6.0 these shoes don't have a loop for trail gators. And the outside heel has a ribbed plastic section that makes placing a velcro tab for my gaiters on it less secure. Both of these are relatively minor issues, but strange that Saucony made these changes to their "Trail Runner".
Wait and see: The Iso body is sort of like a sock. It feels just slightly tight although not distracting or uncomfortable. Also the seem a little less stable side to side than the 6.0, but it could also be the Yanks need some fin tuning. I'll have to wait and see after another few weeks with the shoes.
Aside from that, these shoes are great for the price. They are comfortable to run in. They have almost a Hoka's feel to them. That is to say that the cushioning is placed such that you can feel your foot roll along. The traction is great. Since buying them, I've played some ultimate frisbee, some handball, and outside full-body workout. They lace up tight and the green is a nice standout.
Definitely worth the money. If you get a full size up.
These are great trail shoes, but also pretty comfortable on the road or just about anywhere. Also love the orange color.
My only complaint is that they don't come in different width sizes. Although they were very comfortable, they felt a little snug due to my wide feet. I usually go with the extra wide size on shoes that offer it. However, that extra snug was probably a good thing while pounding through mud and water, etc.
If you're looking for a good shoe for your next OCR, I highly recommend the Xodus ISO.
My use for this shoe is primarily for greenway running (paved). Being 220 pounds of rock solid muscle! kidding. this shoe absorbs a great deal of my weight. Having said that, my Saucony Kinvara's made for hard surface is what I prefer to wear when running single track because I can feel what is below me and conform better to the uneven trail - I found the Xodus too hard for single track and seem to turn my ankle more often.
Calling Saucony shortly to see if they will replace my shoes. I've been wearing Saucony's for about 6 years and never had a problem with fit.
I've been a previous owner of Exodus 2 and Exodus 4 trail running shoes.
The shoes themselves are great; I'm new to trail running and love the extra traction. They don't have much support if you roll your foot sideways on a bit of uneven ground, but I figure that's more inexperience than the fault of the shoes.
