good arch support
good support so ankle doesn't roll on rough terrain
good stability on rough terrain
great heel cushion
good toe protection and side for sticks poking through
I like room in the toe box
Use them for walking (3-5 mi./day) and rough trail hiking.
BUT, I need to order 1/2 size larger (past experience & others' reviews)
I've had other TR's, but TR3 seems to work very well for me.
The first morning after I bought them, I had the same heel pain and could not get up, but the new shoes were next to the bed and so I placed them on in my pjs and all and it was a MIRACLE!! I was able to stand immediately without pain and have lived in these shoes ever sense! I have since learned that the way I was walking was indeed putting too much weight on my heels when I step, and have curbed that, but the relief that these shoes gave me was MAGICAL!! I was even able to begin running and exercising with pleasure.
I HIGHLY Recommend the Saucony Excursion TR3 and any Saucony in general. They are AMAZING!!

Love the look of these shoes but my feet are a bit to wide to fully enjoy them for prolonged periods of use.Published 18 months ago by Kristen L
My wife especially loves these older Saucony tr3 shoes, but she recently found some tr2 shoes she likes, too. The newer shoes don't do well for her. Newer is not always better!Published on January 24, 2013 by John Guillot
I had this sneaker before and when I tried to find another pair, none of the stores in the area carried it. Luckily, I found it on Amazon. Read morePublished on March 11, 2012 by farmersdaughter723
