I took them out for a run - well a few runs - over the Thanksgiving weekend & again from the time I got back from just one three-mile run something didn't feel right - my calves were on fire. I do teach fitness & am an avid marathon runner - just came off a full marathon last weekend. I'm recovered & NEVER have calf problems or the dreaded Plantar Fascitis. I did a few more three-mile runs & one six-miler over the weekend, and I could definitely tell these shoes would be leading me straight into PF if I didn't get out of them.
I looked at the reviews on here to see if anyone else had the same reaction & that's when I saw it wasn't just me. I put on my Saucony Guide 5s & took them for a run last night - no problem. Went to teach my class this morning at 5 a.m. - no problem.
People - please be warned before buying this - it's definitely not the same as what you are used to. Peace out...Val ;-)
If you have similar problems, it would be worth your while to try this shoe. If it works out, you might want to pick up an extra pair due to the rapid release of new styles, colors, etc.
tried many other brands and price ranges nothing compares to this shoe ... and I wear other Sauconys and only this exact model works for the pain .. after 4months of NOT walking my usual walks (4 miles daily) boy you can imagine the relief when I put these on and felt NO PAIN whatsoever ...tested them on a slow 1 mile walk, was fine ..tested them on a 2 mile walk still no pain!!! :) Sadly these are discontinued ... so id say stock up people if you can find your size. AMAZING... VERY supportive, NOT old lady looking, cushioned properly....
now VIONIC BY ORTHOHEEL is a nice casual shoe to help correct the problem and is more comfortable and supportive than most other shoes while dealing with plantar as well as Newbalance w1540v2
Hope this helps someone
