I thought I'd write a quick review in case there are others who might be trying to compare the Ride and the Triumph. Both have significant cushioning and are lightweight.
The Ride shoes feel more narrow to me than the Triumph shoes. I also feel my toes have less length, less space overall in the toe box. I prefer running shoes do not have a feeling of a triangle shape at the toe, even if the overall look is a bit boxy.
The Ride shoes seem to have less arch support than the Triumph shoes. Neither has much shape in the mid-foot but my feet are more relaxed in the Triumph model. It feels more like my foot shape.
One more difference which really made it worth it for me to do the exchange and get the Triumph again is the fabric on the outsole/upper part of the shoe. The Ride shoes have a pretty standard looking fabric with nothing particularly bad about it. But the Triumph shoes have an interesting fabric almost like netting, which makes the shoe look nicer. It is appealing, like layers of the inner sock-like part and the outer straps/netting part. I feel the Triumph is more modern and the Ride is a bit more traditional.
Hard to imagine anybody not liking these shoes. They are solid build, lightweight, with good cushioning. I wouldn't have returned them if I didn't have such a close comparison. I just want to have a pair of shoes that I use only indoors on the treadmill - and another I can use to run in outside on the road and trail. You know you love your shoes when you want to order another pair of the exact same model.
I really like Saucony running shoes for everyday wear because they weigh "almost nothing" and are so comfortable, and yet give me good support when I walk. I am not a runner. I have a pair of Guide 6 that I've worn for a few years and they are still a very good shoe. When I ordered those I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered an 8 1/2 which is a half size longer than my regular shoes. I did the same for this pair.
I was sad to have to return this pair.
I know that the same shoe in the same size can run differently from one shoe box to another, but am not willing to keep ordering in hopes that I might eventually wind up with one pair that is not too short in the toes.
I loved these shoes so much that my daughter wanted the exact same pair. I got them for her for Christmas and she absolutely loves them just as much as I do.
These are my first pair of Saucony shoes and I absolutely love them. I may never buy another brand again as they are my favorite pair that I have ever had. I love the color, red and red with black is my favorite color and I just love they way these look. I do TONS of walking every day and where I live in a small rual town there are not many sidewalks and most roads are not paved, so I'm walking in dirt with lots of rocks. They are so comfortable. I love them so much that my daughter wants a pair of Saucony for her next pair of shoes and of course I agreed. You've gotta try a pair, you won't regret it.
