The Gourmet Stand features three great storage spaces. The top acts as a shelf, the opening is a great spot for small kitchen appliances and it also features storage space behind its beaded door panel. The Carolina Oak fits nicely with existing furniture.

1. The materials of the cabinet have a very strong chemical smell that has not completely gone away although I have had this cabinet for months. I even purchased several highly rated charcoal odor absorbing products and put them in the cabinet, but they did not get rid of the smell. For this reason I only keep unopened factory sealed containers of food in it.
2. Putting the cabinet together was a chore. Upon opening the box I removed and inspected all the pieces and read the directions before I even started. Some of the pieces were not marked and the directions did not make clear which way certain parts went together. For this reason I inadvertently put two different pieces on upside down. By the time I realized what I had done it was too late to fix my mistakes because the pieces can't come apart without essentially destroying the whole thing. I made it work anyway, but I was bummed out.
If it were not for these two things I would have given the cabinet 5 stars.
This pantry has made it where we can place all of our pantry items with no worries of them falling off, needing to be dusted, or knocking something else off. It is also fairly easy to put together and all of the parts line up fairly well.
Our only real complaint is the door doesn't latch completely flush with the rest of the cabinet due to the placement of the magnetic latch. This may not be an issue with all of them it may just be a small defect in the one we received.
The pantry is sturdy and provides a good amount of storage space. It features a middle and bottom shelf that are fixed, as well as a couple of movable shelves. It also comes in a couple of different color variations to make it easier to have it match your kitchen or home decor.
This brand also carries a variety of sizes/styles of these shelves and pantries so you can get one that best fits your needs.
3 stars for now, will raise to 5 depending how long it takes for sauders to send replacement parts that were damaged. both long large side panels and both long panels that go in front for door were cracked across but, since all these panels/etc are so thick (like 3/4-1" thick), it only cracked them halfway through instead of completely breaking which allowed us to still put pantry together to see how it looks (although we probably shouldn't have since it uses expanding cam dowels that i thought we could go to lowes and buy more of but, turns out that is not the case).
-The door magnet kinda of stinks, not very strong and does not line up well with door metal piece so we had to use a spacer so it would reach metal piece more and click close and not easily open back up when cat barely rubs against it.
-Also it has you put little rubber feets in front but, none for the back so it leans backwards a little. hubby says it is so pantry doesn't tip forward but, i him removed them since didn't like pantry looking like it was not standing straight up.
-the weight is mostly on bottom, since bottom is reinforced with double thick panels which honestly i think you could leave one off if not planning on putting anything super heavy on bottom.
-With a drill and the very detailed directions included with this pantry, it took less than an hour to put together.
-pantry looks really nice put together IMO and has more room than i thought it would have.
--ordering replacement parts on sauder's website was extremely hassle free and quite easy to do! that helped make this damaged purchase not so irritating in the end.
there are 6-8 instances when you are instructed to screw into pressed board without pre-drilled holes--often in tight spaces.
Time-consuming and frustrating. It's also larger than I thought it would be. Were it a good-looking piece of furniture it wouldn't bother me but that's not the case here.
After having bought it, assembled it and standing back and taking a good look at it, I've decided to donate it to Salvation Army.
I would highly recommend Sauder furniture to anyone. The prices are very reasonable, and the pieces look nice in your home.
Just don't think you can skip around in the instructions. Be sure to do it as written . . . 1, 2, 3. . . etc. Otherwise, you're going to get in trouble.
Right now, I'm looking for another style of Sauder furniture I have in mind.

I was looking for and well made. My only disappointment was assembly. I hired an experience handyman to assemble and it took him 3 hours.Read more
