So if you are hooked on the same type of books we enjoy, then don't even bother. If you wish to enjoy a drawn out drama that explores unrealistic cultural and sexual romantic fantasies... This one's for you.
I am at the point I believe I wished I was living in those days.
I also believe that if the Indians would not have had so much pride when the greedy white people came, there would be much more Indians living today. Also, between tribes, my God, they were so proud and it made so many wars ... like who has more horses, who has the most properties, the strongest brave, etc.
Of course, the whites didn't help either, but not from, but from greed.
I believe all adults should read this book. It's not for the young ones though.
I thank you Ms Scott for the hours of good reading. You are definitely a great writer.
I like events being detail out, not being told, but explain. I did not feel any love for the characters, although I had occasional admiration for Sarita, however, most of the time I just consider her childish. I do not like her being save, although that did happen a lot in historic time. However, modern books does not have to keep to historic gender roles.
Overall, the lack of characters development and her writing style are what I do not like about this book. Include the fact that this book does not feel like it was based on Native American.
