I've followed R.T. since day one. The very first scene I read of hers was one of the best scenes I've ever read, anywhere. I read her entire BLACK CREEK series and kept waiting for her to falter. I mean, someone can't continue to write at that level, right? Wrong! She just keeps getting better and better!
Nickie Savage is a fantastic character. You feel for her, after all she's been through, but at the same time you admire her for picking up the pieces and going on. She is so multifaceted that it keeps you riveted, wondering just what she will do next. And Duncan's just as fascinating! R.T. Wolfe manages to do all this without drowning you in description. You know the books I'm talking about. The books where you can skip several paragraphs and not miss a thing. R.T.'s words are so beautifully chosen that each word works to pull you right into the scene without anything unnecessary on the page.
It amazes me that, up until a few years ago, R.T. Wolfe didn't consider herself a writer. For someone who feels like they've been a writer all their life, I am astounded that she could just plop down one day and write a book, and write it so well! I will look forward to anything that comes from R.T. Wolfe in the future because she has proven that she has outstanding talent. I recommend this author to everyone I meet and I recommend her to you!
Ms. Wolfe has written a perfect heroine. She's flawed, quirky but compassionate and smart.
Duncan is to die for but he gently pushes Nickie for more a commitment on her part. Trust me, sharing a closet is the least of her worries right now.
Again, you must read this story. I would suggest that you read Savage Vengeance first. It introduce them as a couple and its a great conclusion to the original series.

it. She is trying to make it good in the police force and Duncan is ready to help.
