About the Author
The book was written by Mohinder Singh Sarna. He moved to Delhi from Rawalpindi during the partition in 1947, and was a victim of those times. In 1950 he joined and worked for the Indian Audit and Accounts Service. He was a prolific punjabi writer for 6 decades and has written poetry, short stories, and novels. His works have been translated into many Indian languages, and also turned into telefilms. His stories have also been incorporated in school syllabi too. He received many prestigious awards including the Sahitya Akademi Award. His other notable works are The Golden Temple and Anandpur: The City Of Bliss. The book was translated by Navtej Sarna.
