Not a single new idea, and poorly recycled ones that they used. One knew right from the start, when the city shown looked like some unfinished grade school project. You had a fat lawyer that you knew was going to get it. The evil rich man who claimed the planet for his Corporation. What was so disconcerting were the gaps in time and distance. The Bertzyk character runs away at night for quite some time, and is attacked, and her head then rolls into the camp, and it suddenly is daylight. They have to travel quite some distance to find the hub, and then it turns out the hub is right outside the cave. And night turns into day rapidly. The GCI effects of the bear attacks was laughable. When the evil corp's head was beheaded, way beyond laughable. What were they thinking? Did they have a grade school kid come up with the effects? About the only good thing one could say was the movie was quite inoffensive, unless one considers insulting one's intelligence an offense.

The laziest group of writers, actors and CGI crew I've wasted time on in YEARS.
The premise was good, which someone obviously came up while sitting in a group with a bong in the middle.
After that, it went downhill in a hurry.
This should never have made it into production, let alone emerging on the other side as anything a real person would want their name attached to. Ever.
The first kill by a 'bear' is the absolute worst CGI ever placed in a movie, including all of the Multi-Headed Shark movies. The CGI gets no better, at all as the plot and the cast plod on through the rest of the "movie"

I grew up on Asimov, Clarke, Heinlein, the true masters of that genre called science fiction and there were far more than those 3 alone. I even had the honor of meeting Chesley Bonestell late in hid life.
The things that has bothered me since the explosion of cable and the interwebs is calling things like this sci fi.
All I am trying to say is just because it says sci fi consider it likely isn't sci fi at all if there is a monster involved. Another way to look at this is under the rules they seem to use to be able to call something sci fi, as in there is fictitious science mentio0ned, this movie also qualifies as medical drama, there was a doctor. I would qualify it as a rom com considering how comedic the attempts at something romantic were. Call it political propaganda if you like since the end was very heavily laced with left bleeding heart logic. (Cause ever company that ever got ultra rich did so by giving away everything.)
I just wish sci fi could go back to being what those great masters made it instead of what these modern wannabes churn out. I am sure Stephen King wouldn't mind Cujo being advertised and aired on the Animal Planet as a pet movie. Pretty much the same standard applies. It has a pet in it. This drivel has some fictitious science.
And Sean P. Flannery isn't that good else he wouldn't do movies like this.

Other than the blood and gore, this is clean movie.
The scifi parts are beam me up 20,000 light years away, Scotty; gigantic bears that attack individuals and drags the victims away; and the neon yellow green slime that has miraculous prooerties
Acting is very good. Great plots and subplots.
There's a really bad man 3:1. There a 2.5:1 bad guy. There's also 2:1 and a 1.5 bad guy.
The rest of the folks are mostly nice people.
Taking into account this is a sci fi, although these people are not teenagers, they still wander off in the woods by themselves; get killed; and get attached saved and killed later. Also, no one appears to need any sleep.
The movie was very entertaining.

So poorly conceived it is amazing that this mess of a film ever got produced. Alien space bears slowly eat the team members of an expedition to an earthlike planet. Yup, you read correctly Alien bears. I have seen high school students make far superior films than this disaster. No redeeming qualities. Skip this if you at all value your time.

So-so acting, lame script and the worst special effects I've seen in a while. Don't waste your time.

This film is so great! I don't think the haters understand what this movie is. There are some great actors in this film, but that's not what this is about. I encourage you to watch the Savage Planet with warm popcorn an open mind. Hopefully you don't take things too serious.

I tried to watch the whole movie but... It's terrible, just plain terrible. maybe you can stomach it, but I couldn't. It's as bad as the movies put out by Asylum. Just plain terrible.
