They don’t meet til chapter nine .
Nine chapters of him telling others about how he can handle everything all by himself ,coz you know,he’s awesome like that
Multiple chapters telling us how
miserable but strong and yet basically defeated the heroine is.
And the first whole chapter is just the H preening for us while he starts off the story telling how amazing he is as a dire wolf. Because Dire Wolves are the best wolves. And how special bi sexual wolves in a triad are. Coz inky the bestest and strongest wolves are in a “Triad”. I say bi sexual because Blaise/Blaze ( why this tool’s name is spelt two different ways through out the story ,sometimes just one sentence apart I know not ,just that it was odd and confusing) and Dante are referred to as each other’s mate along with a female named Moira . Why the three are even in the story ,I don’t know that either. They pop up both at the very beginning and at the very end but they don’t seem to have a purpose other than filler . Do they are their sexuality matter ? No. No I guess not . It’s just their lack I’d purpose started to annoy me since they’re purpose age titles are brought up soon often,in a rather manner ,and it didn’t really make sense.
But that was kinda the whole story in a nut shell. The same facts repeated almost ad nauseam for no good reason .
Example : We are told repeatedly just how great Bez is at tracking and hunting and killing. We see him tell his “brothers” that “ he’s got this”, the he doesn’t need ANY help retrieving a young omega from a group of thugs and the weirdest excuse for a “Werewolf “ I’ve every heard of .
I mean, come on, a a two legged creature who sounds like a 1/2 shifted werewolf crossed with a zombie ( 1/2 dead and smells like something rotting or rotten) and inky “eats” females?
Huh ? Of female humans and wolf shifters?
That’s just too weird.
Anyway Mr.big bad,I can do it all myself! Isn’t prepared or and extra woman. And extra woman he’s more than prepared to leave behind to be raped and used for werewolf bait/chow,( he over hears the plans for this ) until he realizes is his mate. But even then he has to stop and think about it because it goes against their precious self protocol. He brags about how many missions he’s been on in the 100’s and 100’s years he’s been doing this sorta thing and yet he doesn’t have back up on stand by, nearby in case things go wrong ?
That sounds like such a newbie mistake . Not something some fool who’s been at this 100’s would do. At almost 40% I was then passed off and bored . These had been boring me for nine chapters now and the H was a liar. Supposedly the omegas w,ere “super duper special “ to not just wolves but dire wolves because omegas are descended for dire wolves. Yet our guy here would have happily left her behind to a fate worse than death if she wasn’t his mate.
Wow. You got a keeper there.
The rest of the boring story is just them getting out of the swamp. They get out make it to a house . Then he calls in back up which is no where near by because he said he didn’t need them. He and heroine dry hump as he tells her kidnappers are in their way. He shoves them into a “safe room” in the attic . What the hell kinda “ safe room” has windows ?
She decides to leave room in classic TSTL fashion so the last baddie can threaten her. Baddie is killed . They sit and wait for “back up” to show , words are exchanged . The End.
I don’t ibis what you’d call this but it wasn’t fun, romantic or even that interesting.
Both found the other sexy and interesting but mainly because of the mate bond. Insta love/lust at its most boring, uninspired and unbelievable. One minute I’m leaving you to be raped and killed, and she understands and is defeated next your my mate and your beautiful, sexy and brave and no one touches you but me.
Not great . Nothing to it. Wouldn’t recommend but not so awful I’d give less that two stars.
I’d say read it your bored and it’s free.
Bez is a Dire Wolf shifter, Dire wolves are the largest and strongest wolves to ever exist and were thought to be extinct. He works for the president of the Shifters and is on a Mission to save the teenage Omega. He is surprised to find Sariel captive also. More surprised to find that she is his mate. This is a good story, short and sweet.
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense
I was disappointed by so much repetitiveness. Numerous paragraphs could have been struck out to improve the story by leaps & bounds.
Some of the actions of both MC's was inconsistent to how mature and intelligent they are supposed to be.
I will continue to book 2 sometime in the near'ish future. That book will tell me if I will continue with this series. It is a good concept but not well executed.

2 notes & 3 highlights (All visible)
Bez is a breed of shifter that is thought to be gone. Only they have been in hiding, tracking, hunting and killing those who pose a threat to the Omegas of the other packs. Bez and his pack-mates have resigned themselves to never having mates. They have lived for a couple of hundred years with no sign of one in sight. However, when one is found it is quite a shock and hard to believe and of course she shows up in the middle of a mission.
Sariel is and Omega and has been kidnapped. Though no one knows it. She holds out little hope of escape or rescue. She knows her time is limited, but she is quite ready to give up. When another Omega, a young Omega, is put into the holding room with her she decides right there and then that they will both escape. Then a shifter shows up to rescue the young Omega and imagine both of their surprise upon the realization that Sariel and this shifter are mates.
Bez is good, the best at what he does, but is he good enough to go up against so many shifters at once, even for the safety of his mate and his duty to protect the younger Omega? Oh....and don't forget the Beast.

Bez is a hunter who always follows his orders, except this mission is thwarted when he finds the unexpected.
Sariel is an Omega being held captive, and along comes Angelita, another kidnapped teenage shewolf. Sariel takes her under her wings and tries to protect her from the captors.
Bez is drawn to Sariel who isn't part of his mission. He is supposed to retrieve Angelita and keep one of the captors alive, but finding out that Sariel is his mate, he can hardly leave her behind. Instantly the mission becomes complicated. Can he leave Sariel behind to complete his mission successfully?
This short read is well portrayed. It's full of danger and suspense. The romance is what to be expected in a shifter novel. A good read.
After tracking down someone with answers, Bez finally finds the location that the Omega is being held but when he gets there, he discovers there are two kidnapped Omegas and one is his mate! Bez was sent to rescue Angelita so to find his mate in Sariel is something he hadn’t prepared for…. especially as no other Dire Wolf has ever been gifted with a mate before. His plans to leave with just Angelita go to pot and for the first time ever, he defies a direct order from his President by rescuing both Omegas. Finding the girls was the easy part of the mission. Keeping them alive until his team can extract them is another story and it was made more difficult by Bez insisting that none of his pack help him in the mission! He’s also supposed to keep at least one of the kidnappers alive so they can be interrogated about the main plot for the Omegas but that might be difficult considering they are a threat to his ward AND his mate.
I found this book just as enjoyable as the Feral Breed series and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I really wanted to like this book, and there were things about it that I did like. The story was a good one, the characters interesting, the writing generally good.
However, I felt that it wasn't well paced. There is far too much information and not enough action for the first part of the book. It just takes too long for Bez and Sariel to meet and then get together. After that, it all seemed too rushed. The characters and situation were so good that much more could have been made of it. Less explaining at the beginning, and more time spent building their relationship, and this would have been a wonderful book.
I liked the book but was a little disappointed. I liked it enough to check out another of the author's books, but I'm not sold yet.
