After a disappointing start with book one, Violent things, book 2, seems to have saved this series. There is more character development and much more story with loads of rising action. You feel for the characters and you can connect with them. Story plot is full of action and rising climax. We see the struggles that Mason has and how he has sacrificed his life for his ill sister. We see the manipulation of a certain agent. Zeth is being threatened and we all know that he will not stand for that. Overall this was a huge improvement from book 1 and I am looking forward to continue with this series.

I have been patiently waiting for this book to come out for a very long time. Callie Hart did not disappoint at all! One of my only complaints from Violent Things was that it felt really short. Callie made up for that big time.
This book gave me so many feels. Savage Things continues where Violent Things left off. I am not going to give what happens in the book away.
What I will say is that Callie showed us an even softer side to Zeth. We get to see how much he truly cares for Sloane. We see how caring for Sloane has changed how he goes about things in his life. We get to see how much Sloane truly cares for Zeth. An important change, both good and sad, comes into their lives. We see how each of them supports the other. We see how vital one another are to each other. We see how well Zeth compliments Sloane and vice versa. We also see Sloane saving Mason's ass from Zeth.
We get funny scenes that just make you want to giggle like a silly school girl. What I love most about Callie is that she does knows how to slowly build an erotic scene. We don't get "big d*** goes into the p**** fast" kind of thing. I feel like you feel yourself getting turned on while Sloane is ( If that makes sense). It's what made me love the Blood and Roses series, apart from Zeth/Sloane. What I also love about Callie is how she gradually builds the plot. The first book laid down exactly what Zeth/Sloane will be facing. This book went into it a more and kept you begging for more. As I said before, this book gave me so many feels. I felt happy, silly, turned on, sad, kept in suspense, etc. Callie knows how to evoke those emotions from you, she is just a great writer. Lili St. Germain and Callie Hart have set the standard for me when it comes to this genre. I have read other books that just didn't do it for me. I highly recommend you to read this book. I am so excited for what is to come in Zeth/Sloane's lives. Now that I have written this review my super fan girl giggling session will commence... lets be real, it has commenced.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME CALLIE!?
If you are a fan of the Blood & Roses series, or just a fan of Zeth Mayfair. This is THE. MUST. READ. BOOK!
I'm not going to spoil or rehash the details, but it was an emotional ride for sure. Still loving that kid Mason, and a lot happens to him in this one, not all good. But just as much happens to Zeth & Sloan. Sooooo looking forward to what happens next. Wonderful, tear worthy, emotional ride Callie!!
Various elements continue to be at play in this volume and the heat is getting turned up to a constant simmer. The vigilant DEA Agent is prowling around Seattle to pin a murder on Zeth. Also, the Italians in NY want extend their territory into Seattle. While these outside forces are looming, Zeth and Sloane must deal with new developments that prompt Zeth to delve into personal tragedy and introspection. The impact also affects Mason, and as difficult as it may be, it is monumental in showing depth and vulnerability.
Of course, let’s not forget how damn sexy Zeth can be! His passion for Sloane runs hot and at any moment he is ready to show her body and mind exactly what he can do! [Cue to remove all clothing and just surrender yourself! lol!]
Narrated in first person POVs between Zeth, Sloane and Mason, the plot develops in a way that can only be identified as Callie’s Hart unique style, as it is structured like a web so the characters and their plights are so tightly interwoven that it either strengthens or all floats away. I am happy to say that the storylines between Zeth and Sloane versus Mason are well balanced but with a slight emphasis on the former. It’s no secret that I absolutely love Zeth, and in this volume, we not only get his hot Alpha-ness but also a closer inspection into his heart and soul. At times, these emotions are polar opposites, but it poignantly shows how Zeth can be at war with himself.
Overall, this second installation offers a solid range of action, savagery, love, loyalty and loss. For those who are already die-hard fans of Mr. Mayfair, it’s a no brainer, I highly recommend Savage Things!
