His rule? To never fall in love at all.
I work at an elite matchmaking company. A failing one, to be honest.
We’re near bankruptcy when billionaire Anthony Winter invests.
It’s only business for him—he doesn’t believein the company’s mission.
No, Anthony tells me true love is a lie and our clients are delusional.
He’s a cynic in a thousand-dollar suit. He’s also a challenge I can't resist.
We make a bet. I have three dates to prove our service works.
Three dates to set him up with the woman he never knew he needed.
He has no intention of finding one. I have no intention of being her.
But as we spend time together, I realize his cynicism is only a facade.
He’s a man hiding a painful secret. A man hurting.
And most definitely a man worthy of true love.
He saved my company.
Will he let me save him in return?
"Saved by the Boss" is a grumpy-sunshine office romance between a scowling blue-blood billionaire and an optimistic heroine determined to see the best in everyone. Guaranteed Happily-Ever-After!
This is the second book in the "New York Billionaires" series but can be read as a complete standalone!

About the author

Olivia loves billionaire heroes despite never having met one in person. Taking matters into her own hands, she creates them on the page instead. Stern, charming, cold or brooding, so far she's never met a (fictional) billionaire she didn't like.
A voracious reader of romance, Olivia picked up the pen a few years back and what followed was nothing short of a love affair of her own. Now she spends her days giggling at the steamy banter she's writing or swooning at their happily-ever-afters.
Smart and sexy romance—those are her lead themes.

I love the grumpy boss trope, but I am often disappointed in how it’s executed. This one is nearly perfect. Anthony, a venture capitalist who lost a poker bet and now has to guide a matchmaking service run by Summer and her aunt, has a secret. He’s definitely grumpy, and you can tell he’s either been burned by heartbreak or some other tragedy, and when the reveal comes, it’s not kept from you in vague terms for most of the book until a surprise reveal, but instead fed to you bit by bit until you realize the source of his misery.
This is not instalust, but the two leads don’t hate one another at the beginning either. It’s strictly business, and I loved how Summer wasn’t described as pining or lusting after him 10 seconds after they meet. The attraction comes as they become friends, and I loved how the relationship grew.
There were times, especially toward the end, when I was not happy about how Anthony was handling the situation, but it was written well and so I have to leave it to the author to decide how her characters resolve their situations.
I’ve only read two books now from this author, and one of the things I absolutely love is that the FMCs are strong women who don’t lose their heads when the handsome man appears, they are equal to the man in wit and conversation, and have great backbones. The conflicts are creative but realistic, although the next book is about fake relationship. That’s not realistic, but it should be fun.
I didn’t take any stars off for it, but this romance like most e-romances includes my pet peeve about proposals. An author spends a whole story weaving how the leads come to respect, love, support, trust one another, and then it leaves the power in the men’s hands as to when the proposal occurs. I especially hate the ones where the FMC says the MMC has hinted about getting married and she’s just waiting around for it, and I also hate the ones where the MMC says something to the FMC about one of these days I’m going to put a ring on your finger and she has to wait around for it. Just a personal pet peeve.
So, Summer is amazing and so are her parents. Ironic that they breed and train dogs for the blind. While the matchmaking business is Summer's aunt's business, Summer is very invested and wants the best for it.
Anthony is quite charming and has depth that he hides from others due to his failing eyesight. He doesn't want things to change with his friends and family, so he doesn't share his biggest secret/pain... That he's losing his eyesight.
This book has been, by far, my favorite book in the series (as of right now, only the first three are out and I've read them all). This book is not your average billionaire because of the blindness. This book touches on matters of the heart. From the golden retrievers being trained for the blind to the determination of success to the unconditional love found in the book. I loved it all.
It is a well written book that draws you in. I've read plenty of billionaire stories and they're all often a similar story. Broody men because of childhood loss or something. And then some woman turns them around.
But this, this book was different. Anthony was broody because he was losing his eyesight and didn't want to be a burden to those around him. Summer didn't know this at first. And was trying to set him up on dates to win a bet with him because she believed in love and he said he didn't (because of the impending blindness). He believed in business and that the matchmaking business would be profitable (after losing at poker and having to take over the matchmaking business). Two dates down and he sabotaged the first one and the second was just terrible. Summer accompanied Anthony to a charity event in place of a 3rd date - but as a friend. The actual 3rd date wasn't too bad and under different circumstances, may have had a chance. But as it turns out, Anthony has slowly falling for Summer and Summer was falling for him.
Their romance was absolutely charming and beautiful to read. It took a lot of adjustments on Anthony's part and understanding on Summer's part. The unconditional love in this story shines through as the book progresses. And the pups are just wonderful additions as well. Heartwarming and emotion inducing book all around.
This has been a surprisingly wonderful find of a book this year. Five stars for sure!

In the first few chapters I was not sure how this story would keep me involved with Book but although a slow burning read it is so worth it we see a difference with seeing the most vulnerable side of Anthony
And with great support of Summer with her very happy disposition two complete different characters bought together to give us a very emotional story
Anthony comes out with a couple of lines to Summer which although her brightness about life is compelling it’s not always true in every circumstance but he knows that is what he does need
Olivia Hayle I feel has excelled with this story it has great depth and I was so moved
Highly recommended
