Review
Saving America highlights how both parties have grown government to a very dangerous size, why people of faith must work to shrink it as quickly as possible, and how to do it. Every Christian should read this book, regardless of their political or theological beliefs. Doug Wead, New York Times bestselling author and adviser to two American presidents. He is the author of more than thirty books and a co-author of a book with President George H. W. Bush. Mr. Wead served as special assistant to the president in the Bush, Sr. White House. Jonathan Wakefield, a happy warrior for truth and freedom, penned a rare book; one of the few I have read in the last several years that I actually wanted to finish. Not being a Tea Party member, I was enlightened and encouraged by the Biblical underpinnings of the Tea Party. Jonathan s winsome, transparent, non-confrontational yet compelling style makes the pages of this book fly by. I encourage everyone who has a heart for America to read it and heed it. About the Author
JONATHAN WAKEFIELD is an average American who lived his first 32 years with almost no political engagement other than voting. But during the financial crisis of 2008, he awoke to how fragile America had become as a result of the expansion of governmental power under both major political parties. He has since committed to working toward shifting much of that power back to the People. As a political independent, he has been a leader in the Tea Party movement since 2009, serving on the Board of Directors of the Richmond Tea Party in Virginia. He has been involved in helping craft and push for the passage of various legislation, organizing numerous rallies and events, and publicly advocating for Tea Party principles. He has been interviewed on GBTV, PJTV, Tea Party Express Radio, NRA radio, and others. Professionally, Jonathan is an information technology specialist and a freelance writer. He blogs regularly on political and religious topics and has written for an array of print and online publications, including the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Broadside books.net, New Man, Men of Integrity, Live, and Christian Fiction Online Magazine. Saving America is a book he did not want to write, but felt compelled to in the face of America s current crises. He also writes apolitical fiction. His short stories have appeared in The Rose & Thorn and The Messenger, and his debut novel, Fatal Reality (a thriller), was released in 2011. Jonathan lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and two sons. Visit his websites at jonathanwakefield.com and teapartyforchristians.com.
